Sameth's at the counter trying to make a mechanical butterfly actually fly as a butterfly when a napkin appears in front of him. After reading it, he smiles and goes behind the counter to find the cocktail book and still working on the butterfly.

Then he sits down on a stool to work on the butterfly once more, he will get it to fly like it should.

That is... super-awesome.

More awesome than the soda Rikki was going to ask for. Sameth is getting a teenager who looks like she hasn't slept properly for a little while. She hops onto a stool and eyes his butterfly-thing. "What is that?"

He glances up as the butterfly starts to fly but the flapping isn't right, there are glowing Charter Marks shimmering in the mechanics,

"A butterfly, but it won't fly as it should."

Rikki leans in for a closer look, peering at the glowing marks. Maybe it's magic. Doesn't look like science. "What's it supposed to do?"

Its mainly mechanical other than those Marks,

"Fly and flap its wings and it will do that for a little bit then it falters."

"Do you make a lot of stuff like this?"

Because she kind of really wants to see his world if that's what his people do. How awesome are mechanical animals?

"I do, yes, this was an idea I had after watching a butterfly,"

He sets it flying and the butterfly flutters and moves as it should then goes slightly too fast before he catches it before it hits the counter.

Poor mechanical butterfly. It's trying.

"What else have you made?"

[makesthings]

"Lots of things, a hand for my aunt, a flying frog that catches bugs, cricketers that can play and I've got a number of other ideas in the works,"

As he talks, he fiddles with it as he knows that it can fly as it should.

"You made a hand?!"

Because that is awesome.

Bonnie is drawn perhaps more by the butterfly than by the drinks. Though the first one sounds vaguely tasty.

"Hey." She sits on a stool.

[makesthings]

"Hello, Bonnie. What can I get you?"

He sets the butterfly to flying which is manages fairly well until it starts to change the way it flutters.

"Alcohol, somethin' strong." Bonnie says.

She watches the butterfly in wonder.

"You got such a gift." she says.

[makesthings]

"Thanks. Any particular kind? There are lots of choices here. The cocktails have vodka, brandy and some other things in them,"

As the butterfly starts to falter, he catches it to keep it from breaking.

"The first one?"

Bonnie reaches out to take a look at the butterfly, if he doesn't mind.

"Do you want it straight or should I mix you up the drink?"

He hands it to her, Charter Marks shimmer among the mechanics.

"Oh, the drink, sorry." Bonnie says, distractedly.

She peers at the beautiful creature.

"You makin' it fer a gift?"

[makesthings]

"No, just to see if I can make it," The drink isn't too complicated to make and he soon sets it in front of her.

[mix_it_up]

"That's pretty cool."

Asami's leaning slightly over the bar, watching the butterfly.

[makesthings]

Sameth looks up and blushes, Asami's beautiful, "Thanks, but its not flying right."

[mix_it_up]

"No, it's not," she agrees, glancing up to Sameth. If she notices him blush, nothing in her expression shows it. She just gives him a small smile.

"But making it fly like a real one won't be easy."

[makesthings]

"No, it starts off fine but then the way it starts going either too fast or too slow. I know there's a way to correct it but don't know what it is,"

He lays it down on the counter to show the small cogs and spells that are controlling flight.

[mix_it_up]

"Oh, um -"

She's not sure what to make of the spells, but still hazards a guess, "Maybe it needs a way to control for how much lift it needs? Right now it's making too much or too little."

Her smile twists slightly. "But I'm not sure how all of this works."

"Yes, that would make sense. Can I get you something to drink?"

When he's tending, he shouldn't be working this much, that's rude.

[mix_it_up]

Asami blinks again - she hadn't thought of it before now.

After a glance at the specials board - "I think I'll just have some white tea, thanks."

[makesthings]

"White tea, okay," He turns to look as there are a lot of kinds of tea back here and finally finds one that says its white and a small tea pot. "Um, I hope this is what you want."
