Gene emerges from the office a couple of hours later, looking a bit tired, but more grim than anything. After a bit of thought, he's written a proper note to Security.

For attention of: everyone on Security

A colleague of Hannibal Lecter's came into the bar tonight, and put four bullets in him. Unfortunately, he's still alive and looks likely to remain that way (but don't give Guppy or Banner shit about it, it sounds like they feel bad enough already). The docs saw it happen, as well as Will Graham and Sunshine, and probably whoever else was about - it wasn't exactly inconspicuous.

The woman's called Alana Bloom, and she's in the cells. It seems that Lecter was in the process of trying to kill her, and someone else, when she found the bar and thought the version here was the one chasing her at home. She's saying it might possibly be self-defence...I don't know if that holds up, given the change in scenery...but as Lecter turned up here a week ago covered in blood, and all over the place, it sounds like something serious went down on their world, and this might be it.

Upshot is - she's confirmed unequivocally that he's a serial killer, and a cannibal. End of. I suppose there's still nothing we can do about it, but everyone needs to know so they can look after themselves when he's around. If someone dies here because we kept quiet about it, it'll be on our heads.

It's been a funny old night. But he feels some satisfaction in knowing that, for one, Hannibal's safely out of action for a while, and for two, that he was right in his suspicions about the wanker. With the note written, he sticks another, shorter, note on the board for the eyes of the general public.

Anyone wants Alana Bloom, she's in the cells.

Duty done for the night, he disappears upstairs to get drunk in private.
