Eric is seated at a table with an empty glass.
Those who saw him after the spirited exchange with Pearly might be surprised to see his face as it bears no marks of this whatsoever.

He ought to head back. They ought to head back. There are plenty of things to deal with at home, but he is taking the opportunity to relax a little before returning to the madness that is Area Five.

"You really do heal fast", Gavroche says, appearing at his table.

Eric looks up at him.

"You saw the fight." It's more of a statement than a question.
"Yes. I do."

[street_sparrow]

"The rats did, and Jay asked if anything'd been going on, so I asked them and they told me." There's an unusually serious look on his face. "What is he, and is he going to be trouble?"

[onceaviking]

"I don't know," Eric relies. "But he was mad, that's for sure. Next time, I'll take care to move faster, "
He says it very calmly. Very, very calmly.

"I'll be hoping there isn't a next time, if it's all the same to you."

[onceaviking]

"With someone like that, the will be," Eric says, with great certainty.

[street_sparrow]

"Seems like it", he has to concede. "I know there wasn't a lot of provocation before he started it."

[onceaviking]

"He drew a weapon on Pam for touching him."

He strives for old and detached. He may not succeed entirely. The very notion still makes him seethe.

"...seriously? That was all it took?"

[onceaviking]

"He's obviously insane," Eric replies.
Coldly.

[street_sparrow]

"Yeah, and then some." He doesn't like this at all. "Insane, violent, and something more than human, that can't end well."

[onceaviking]

"Whatever happens I sincerely hope I will get to kill him, if that is where it ends."
He's not exaggerating.

[street_sparrow]

"Do you think you could?" It's an honest question.

[inspector_blueeyes]

"Mr Northman." David greets him with a small nod. "I hear you had rather an unfortunate encounter recently. I'm glad to see you're not as badly injured as Minx described."

[onceaviking]

Oh, she'd noticed.
Interesting.

Eric looks up at David. "That depends on what she said," he replies. "I heal quickly."

[inspector_blueeyes]

Oh she noticed. More acutely than David is comfortable with.

"So it would seem. She indicated you were quite badly maimed. She was... concerned." His wording is careful and understated. Much like the man himself.

Eric smiles a little.

"Then you must assure the lovely young woman, that I am fine," he says.
"As is, sadly, my assailant."

[inspector_blueeyes]

"Her description of your assailant was as a man not fully in control of his facilities?" Although Minx used the phrase barking mad. "But I'm glad to know you and your lady friend," there's almost a question there, "have not come to any lasting harm."

[onceaviking]

"He was insane," Eric replies. "And not human. I don't know what he was, but he wasn't human. And Pam is my Progeny. He ought never had lain a hand on her."

[inspector_blueeyes]

He nods, taking note of that. "Thank you. I shall warn Minx to stay well clear of the man."

"Then from all accounts, you should be most proud. Minx mentioned that the lady acted with control and dignity as befitting her sire." David nods respectfully.

[onceaviking]

It's hard to tell, but there might , there might be a somewhat softer look to his eyes as he says, "I am."

[inspector_blueeyes]

"She must be a rare and exceptional woman to have attracted your attentions?" He asks, inviting Eric to elaborate.

[onceaviking]

"She is. She was strong and smart." He smiles. "And I wanted her."

And that is likely all he is going to say about that.
Because it's something deep.

And he doesn't like feeling things.

[inspector_blueeyes]

"Just so." David nods, not pushing any further than that.

But he does watch Eric's face with something deeper than passing interest. Those deep blue eyes miss nothing, every watchful and interested. It seems like there's something he wants to ask but isn't sure how.

Eric looks back at him, one eyebrow slightly raised.

That is all the help he is going to get.
