[OOM: "Why are you dressed up tonight?"]
"No, I think it's a good idea –"
Asami breaks off as she enters the bar. She's still in her red qipao, though she's holding her heeled shoes in her right hand, wearing instead the softer white slippers she'd put on when she entered her father's workshop.
She stops a few feet from the doorway and, once she registers where she is, immediately turns to look back to it. But the door has closed – whoever she was speaking to hasn't followed her here.
A very slight frown crosses her face, but it's brief, and she doesn't linger at the door. Asami turns again, and walks through the room, toward the Bar.

Soon he'll go home, but he needs to understand all he can before he does so he can tell Toby. Its weird that there are no Fae here but people who he'd almost expect to be.

Once she has it, Asami glances over again, first to the marked-up brochure. But then she looks up, and asks, "How are you?"

"I don't think I've tried that kind." But for the moment, Asami seems content with her tea. She takes another sip from it, and then -
"Do you mind if I ask what you're working on?"

He hates how it feels like the rules are almost what he knows but not quite and he misses Toby. She would have an answer and probably tell him to come home before he gets in trouble.
no subject
But the moment she says it, one such brochure appears next to her cup of tea, printed in a language she can understand. Asami lifts it, and flips open the pages.
"I'm pretty sure we didn't have these when I first came in."

And he's having to be awake during the day which is weird, but he'll go home and sleep a lot.

Michael is seated at Bar herself, a half-eaten donut and a cup of coffee in front of her.
Her T-shirt, cheerfully enough, reads 'We're all mad here'.
It seemed appropriate.
"I give you points for the comfy slippers. I never can remember to bring any."
Not that her Docs are all that uncomfortable, really.

Including but not limited to factory entrances, her car, and her father's workshop. She sets her heeled shoes down as she takes a seat near Michael.

Michael cracks a smile.
"I've been told I should carry a purse for that."
It didn't take.
no subject
Asami returns the smile. "But I wasn't planning on being out again tonight."
no subject
Michael gestures toward the impressive environs, waitrats, floors sticky with interdimensional beverages, and all.
"It doesn't for me, either, I admit."
no subject
Asami orders a cup of tea, before she adds, "And the dress code here is a little more lax."
She doesn't disapprove - she doesn't fee like putting those heels back on, anyway.
no subject
Michael picks up her coffee cup and takes a sip.
"Though I've heard rumors of people coming here out of the bath, and I can't say I'm a fan."

Which is why, when he hears Asami coming, he pops his head up.
His first thought is something akin to uh-oh, busted - which is why he's got that deer-in-the-headlights look for a few moments before speaking.
"Hello."
no subject
After a glance around - noting the empty specials board, and no other sign that she'd walked in during a Happy Hour - "What are you doing back there?"
There's nothing accusatory in it. Asami's just not sure why someone would go behind the bar when it seems to be working.
no subject
He inches back, trying (and failing) to hide the bottle of grape juice behind his back.
"What are you doing?"
no subject
There's no sign she's noticed what he's hiding, but after a moment she asks, "Do you want anything?"
no subject
"Hi," he drawls. "Come here often?"
[OOC: That OOM was well done and bittersweet.]
no subject
"Yeah, I do," she answers, as she looks back down to the bar. "Not that I really get a choice about it."
[ooc: Thanks!]

"I don't get a choice about when I end up here," she says, slowly.
no subject
He shakes his head and steals someone's drink to play with, to make himself feel more at ease. "Anyway, ya know me? You look like you do. You from my world?"
no subject
"I'm a probending fan - I've seen a few of your matches."
