David is in rather a hurry today but stops to leave something at the bar before heading back to his world.

Wrapped in handkerchief of undyed silk is a black and red lacquered cigarette case. It’s simple and understated; more David’s style than Emcee’s but a stylish gift none the less. The card inside is inscribed with David’s precise hand – With appreciation and in apology. David.

The Master of Ceremonies is on his way out as well, only pausing for a pack of cigarettes at the bar when the wrapped item appears.

It surprises him. With curiosity, he removes the handkerchief to reveal a very nice, very elegant cigarette case. When he opens it and reads the card, he...doesn't really know how to react. Receiving unexpected gifts like this often makes him uncomfortable. Not that he doesn't appreciate them. He only questions how much he deserves them.

Brows knitted slightly, he looks around the bar in case David is here, but he isn't. So he requests a slip of paper and a pen. In German he writes in neat but loose and rounded print,

David,

Thank you for the beautiful cigarette case. You did not have to give me anything, but it was very thoughtful of you. No apologies necessary.

Leaving the note with Bar, he wraps the case in its handkerchief and slips it into his coat pocket along with the pack of cigarettes before heading out the door.
