Tegid was outside today, his beard still long, his face still thin, but at least he was clean. He was going to have to change back into his dirty clothes before he left the Bar, but for now he is in modern clothes. It took him several minutes to figure out what all the pieces were, but once he understood them, he was able to dress himself. Today, he wore a pair of black Chuck Taylor Converse shoes, a white t shirt, a pair of blue jeans held up by a belt, and a black hoody. The main problem with the shoes and socks he was wearing was the snow; it seeped in and made his feet wet and cold. But all in all, these clothes were quite comfortable. He was looking for some very specific wood in the trees today, and he has a few branches of three of the sacred nine.
Later, after finding and burning the branches, and returning indoors and washing, he is sitting next to the fire, with his shoes and socks off. They needed to dry and his feet needed to warm up. He has a cup of tea. On the low table near him is a pouch, and between sips of tea he is taking stock of what he needs in it.
Please speak with him either inside or out.

"Yeah, hey Tegid. Just watch she doesn't lob it into a glass or something." Guppy grins. "She's got a hard throwing arm."

Tegid smiled slightly.

Tegid wasn't really sure how to respond. The child had cheered him, but his heart was still heavy. He took a sip of tea.
"I could be better," he said.

"I..ah.. my friends are starving," he said, "I must decline."
The chocolate sounded wonderful.

He smiled a bit ruefully, "Everyone in the warband is looking rather bad. We have started to eat our horses."

Brooke lobs the ball back at him suddenly.

Tegid caught the ball and rolled it at her again.

Brooke giggles and throws the ball wildly across the room. Hope you've got a good catch there Tegid.

"Thank you, brother," he said, "My lady Brook, we shouldn't throw the ball that far. It might disturb other people."

"BROOKLYN." Guppy says loudly, as he puts the tea down. "NO."

Tegid smiled sheepishly, "Let me pay for a new one," he said, "I instigated the game."
"No, you don't have to," said Daniel with a smile, "It was just an accident."
Daniel picked up the ball looking at it and then back at Brook, "Maybe I will keep it."
Tegid raised an eyebrow at Daniel.

"Thanks for being understanding." he says to Daniel on the way. "But she has to learn.
He plonks Brooke down on a step and she pouts.

Daniel tossed the ball at Tegid, "Here. And don't worry about the beer."
Tegid caught the ball and looked at it, "Are you sure, I can always get you another one."
Daniel shrugged as he watched a rat clean up the glass and the beer, "I think a little spilled beer is the least of my worries."
Tegid turned away from the other man and looked at Guppy and held the ball out to him, "Here."

"Blessings, oaths, and purification, things of that sort," said Tegid.

The fire started to die down. Tegid looked at the man beside him, the scar that crossed his nose and marked his temples prominent on his face.
"I am Tegid Tathal," he said, "Penderwydd of Prydain."

"We could have used that knowledge to save Alun, I think," he mumbled.

It wasn't that they didn't have them in his world, but why one group of people would feel the need to protect them from from another, was rather confusing.
