Athelstan steps in, bringing the noise of a rowdy and very, very large party with him, quickly closes the door and looks around for Dorian or Sonya - or indeed anyone else, but those two in particular.
It would seem it's time for his invited guests to go to Uppsala.
[ooc: open to all, especially if you'd like your character to be a last-minute invited guest!]

Some sort of strings go from the device to his ears.

It looks rather like a computer, which he has seen, and Athelstan wanders over for a closer look.
"Hello, Dorian."
no subject
"Oh, hello Athelstan!"
On the device, people are fighting.

"What are you looking at?" he asks, peering at it - then belatedly, "I didn't mean to startle you."

" - scary horses?" The rest of it sounds - well, so far, so folklore.

"As well as ever. We're at Uppsala now."

With feasting, quaffing and wenches -- hopefully!

Looking up at Athelstan, Tegid smiled, "Hello, Athelstan. That sounds like quite a celebration on the other side."
no subject
"The nine-yearly festival at Uppsala", he says with a nod. "I promised that at the first chance when they could go unremarked, I would bring some people to my world... and, well, one person more or less certainly won't be noticed today."

no subject
"Just because of the sheer numbers already there", he explains. "But what has happened, you look... different."
no subject
"My world is changed," said Tegid, "All has been cleansed and reborn."
Except Llew, he was still dead.
no subject
"But that sounds as though it should be good... isn't it?"
He's a little confused by the disconnect between the words and the expression.
no subject
He waved his hand and changed the subject.
"What are they celebrating?"
no subject
"I'm sorry", Athelstan says before the question comes. "Their gods. It's said that at this festival, one walks in their presence."

True, she told him that they'd train next time he was here, but they had no control over when the door to his world would appear.
no subject
"You, in fact." The expression has turned to a smile. "Well, you and Dorian Gray, and perhaps Olivier. We've reached Uppsala."
no subject
Sonya stood up from the sofa. "Gimmie a minute. Bar lent me some clothes so I wouldn't stick out." This wasn't the first time she went to a different time period.
no subject
"You're prepared already?" He grins. "Good. And perhaps it is, a little, Olivier has said he wants to see my world and so have you, and now you shouldn't attract too much attention. There are already scores of people, and more come every hour."
no subject
She left for her room, coming back fifteen minutes later dressed in the norse garb of a woman who wasn't wealthy, but still well off. The color scheme inwardly made Sonya smirk when she first recieved them: the under dress was an olive drab color while the overdress was more of a dark, khaki color. Even when she was out of time, she was still part of the army.
"The boots are the only thing not 'in period'." She smirked and pulled the skirt up a few inches to show her combat boots, a mischievous grin on her face.

Athelstan blinks at them, then laughs aloud.
"Be careful not to let anyone see them, and all will be well. From what I understand, no Norseman would force their attentions on a free woman, and the law is clear on the consequences if they tried."
no subject
Unfortunately, she did know of such stories, atleast back home. "Doubt anyone would be looking at my feet anyway." She motioned towards his door. "Onward, or are we waiting for anyone else?"
no subject
"We can go", he decides. "I can always come back for Dorian and Olivier later."
