Tom doesn't know why his cravat and collar are feeling too tight, this is his normal cut, but he feels overheated.

While this is Milliways, he will not be taking his highly fitted jacket off instead he's drinking a whiskey as he lounges at the counter.

He seems to have an odd headache where there are voices just beyond his hearing, its disturbing and he wishes that Henry came here, he's good at finding pleasant distractions.

(OOC: Charles thinks he's Tom Lefroy from Becoming Jane and he is listening to thoughts but doesn't realize what they are. Include them if you want but you don't need to. Open for ages.)

Diaval comes past, singing a happy little song in his head. "Hello Charles. That's a pretty coat."

The song is odd and Tom rubs his face, "My name is Thomas Lefroy."

"Are you?" The raven man cocks his head and peers at him. "Did someone make you change into Thomas Lefroy? I didn't know magic could change people into people."

"No, no one has made me change into anything,"

He gets out his handkerchief and wipes his face, he doesn't like feeling hot and cold.

"Are you okay? You look sick." Diaval flaps a bit, fetching water for Tom.

"I've certainly felt better. Thank you," The water is cool and does help slightly as Tom leans against the counter, "Does this Charles you know look like me?"

"He looks lots and lots like you. He has thinking magic, in his head."

"Thinking magic, I don't know what that means but yes, I remember there being people here that resembled me. Milliways is an odd place."

"He can hear inside people's thoughts and helps them find words for the things they feel but can't talk about. He's very kind." Diaval smiles warmly. "You seem kind too."

"That seems like it would be difficult to deal with every day. I don't know how kind I am,"

Tom does try but his thoughts are more on the day-to-day not kindness.

Diaval cocks his head birdishly. "Do you think you are a bad person?"

"No, but I'm not a completely good person either. I have my vices and my faults,"

He knows exactly how far he can take all of them.

He looks at Tom, studying him deeply. "Do you want to be more kind?"

"I try to be fair and kind when I can," Its not something he spends a lot of time thinking about.

Diaval considers this and nods. "Would you like something to drink? I was going to have a hot chocolate."

"Oh yes, thanks, I'll have some claret. What's your name? I don't think I caught it,"

His head's feeling a little too full.

He smiles and bows deeply, "Diaval, servant to Maleficent Queen of the Fae." His mind projects an image of a proud and dangerous beautiful woman with blade sharp cheekbones and rising turned horns.

Tom holds his head at the image, "She's striking."

"You can see her? In your head? You must be like Charles."

"Yes, no, this shouldn't happen," He rests his head on the counter.

"Oh." Diaval bites his lip, unhappy at having made Tom upset. "Should... should I go?"

"No, no, its not you, my head is too full,"

Tom coughs and shivers, he doesn't feel good.

"Perhaps you should go somewhere more quiet. That's what I do when I feel like my head is too full. I fly right up to the top of the mountain."

"I will, yes,"

He stood up and leaned down before managing to move towards the stairs.

"Tom? Do you... would you like a help?"

"I don't know. I should be fine, thank you,"

Its not that far to his room, he'll just move slowly.

Diaval hovers closely, radiating concern till he's sure Tom's going to be okay.

(OOC: It was, I love Diaval and look forward to Darvell and Quentin. I'm good for any seeing through because different worlds, different rules.)

Tom is grateful for Diaval helping him though he's quiet as his head is crowded and his sleep is feverish and strange.
