Sin has discovered the karaoke machine and is having a wonderful time singing along. He has a great voice, higher and feminine, even if his outfit today is more androgynous and his make up minimal.

At the moment he's having fun with Come on Eileen.

Or just watch. That's the option Noriko's taking right now, because she's nibbling at food--she needs to eat because she's close to malnutrition, her head is telling her this and her stomach's not disagreeing--but she's also remembering.

She used to sing karaoke, before the six seconds that changed her life forever. She used to rap and it was fun, and she wore makeup and outfits not dissimilar to this man's. It's not that seeing someone else do this makes her sad, but thinking about how horrible she'd likely be at the same activity now makes her that way. It results in someone far too wistful to really be listening to the upbeat sort of song.

Sin finishes the song and comes bouncing down in search of a drink. "Hi." He smiles to her warmly. "Do you have a song you'd like me to sing?"

She looks up at him once and fleetingly before looking away, almost afraid, and shutting her eyes, shaking her head and making her blue-tipped dreadlocks bounce against her shoulders.

"No," she whisper, voice edging into raspy, tremulous while she shrugs her too-skinny shoulders into the recesses of a too-worn, patched old jacket. "No, just... I can't sing." She hasn't in years. Literal years.

"Can I sing something for you?" Sin offers softly, easing into a chair near her but not at her table so as not to crowd her. "Sometimes you miss hearing, perhaps?" He knows what suffering looks like and he sees it in every line of her.

Noriko really tries not to answer that. It doesn't work, because the longer she goes on still nibbling at the food in front of her without speaking, the more he feels like she might explode from nerves.

He's harmless here, she knows that. It doesn't help much. "Freddie Mercury," she barely murmurs. "I used to love his music." Not that she wouldn't love it now if she heard it, but music is a luxury they don't have.

"Anything in particular or shall I sing you my favourite?" He offers softly, patiently. Sin's physically small and light, a threat to no-one.

It isn't his size; it's the fact that he's not a mutant. He bears no M tattoo--she does, even if it's not on her face like the others, and oh she had to beg for that small mercy--and that makes him very dangerous.

"Anything." She'd have said anything happy, excepting that Noriko still isn't sure if she'd smile or crack when faced with that emotion.

Unfortunately Sin's favourite isn't a happy song. He closes his eyes and sing '39 to her, softly so only they can hear.

Noriko lets out a soft keening sound, raspy in her throat and contained behind bloodless lips, at some of the lyrics. She's curled up on the chair in a way that makes her seem much smaller than she actually is, and she shakes her head quickly. "Please stop," she murmurs.

She never thought that she'd be one of those people who just couldn't bear something, but it's painful to hear, and it's just one more hurt piled on the others.

Athelstan watches him with amused affection.

"Having a good time?"

"Absolutely!" He bounces over to kiss Athelstan's cheek. "Sing with me?"

"Sing?" Rabbit in headlights time.

(He does have a good voice, just not the confidence to go with it.

"If you want to. We don't have to sing up there, we can sit here and sing."

[athelstanthescribe]

"I do like to sing", he admits. "If here would be all right."

"Of course, beautiful Athelstan!" Sin leans in to kiss his cheek. "Just tell me what you feel like singing?"

"I don't really know." He thinks about it. "I listen to the radio sometimes... what songs do you like?"

"Anything, everything." Sin smiles, "I love music. Of all kinds." He starts soft, singing God Only Knows by the Beach Boys.

Singing it to Athelstan. Intimately.

At some stage, Ragnar comes in, leans against a pillar with a beer, and watches Sinric perform.

Apparently, he took up his suggestion.

When the song ends, Ragnar starts clapping slowly.

Sin laughs and sweeps a deep bow. "Thank you, kind sir. I take requests if you still want Tina Turner?"

"Of course I do," Ragnar grins. "It'll suit you, and it'll be the right kind of noise this needs."

Sin grins and bounces back to the stage for what can only be considered a particularly sensual rendition of Private Dancer.

Ragnar claps along, cheers, and hums along, really into it.

He's definitely not the only one paying close attention.

Sin is well aware of the attention his capable of drawing; the way he moves, the way he sings. His only regret is not being in full drag for this.

"Even the guys with the suits are drooling," Ragnar comments, grinning.

Sin grins wickedly. "As they should." He blows said suited guys a kiss over his shoulder.
