Every so often, Alex gets a... call it an itch. To practice some of the skills that he promised himself he wasn't going to need anymore, just in case, because despite having not been to his world for a while now, he still can't shake the feeling that he's not really out so much as hiding. And when he gets dragged back in by MI6, kicking and screaming, there are some things he's going to need to remember how to do.
Which is how he ended up at the gun range. MI6 never let him use one, but he was taught the basics of how to use them by his uncle and at Brecon Beacons, later to be refined by Scorpia with their instinctive firing course. It's been a while, but he's still good; as long as the targets he's hitting are just paper and shapes, he has a very good success rate.
Not that he looks particularly pleased about it.

He approaches with his rifle and stops when he sees Alex to wait for a moment to get closer.

The range is a lot fancier than what William uses at home, which is shooting cans on the fence. He gestures to the other targets.

"Right, its nice out."

Because he might as well make small talk. It's not like he has anything he has to do.
