It's been a busy day in Mexico City, mostly involving a gang of ruthless counterfeiters and kidnappers who outnumber the police assigned to their case. Santo's been helping with that. He's got a match tonight, so he hadn't planned on coming to the Bar today, but the door found him.

"I suppose this means I'm still on duty of sorts," he says to the Bar. "Very well; I will wear my Security badge as long as you have me here, in case anyone needs me."

Maybe he'll take a pre-match nap before going home, but right now, Security member on duty inna bar.

If Santo looks towards the fireplace, he'll spot one golden-eyed wizard doing something he has not done before.

Today, Rabastan attempts knitting things with sleeves.

He's figured out not dropping stitches, how to make shapes, how to mix colours, and even holes [sort of], so this is like a graduation of sorts.

It's going about as well as you would expect from a sleeve novice.

It's an interesting sight to see, and a craft with which- alas- Santo himself is unfamiliar. Not that he hasn't seen knitwork before, but he's never had to do it himself.

He'll watch from a distance for a bit before coming over to have a better look.

Sleeves are frustrating. That's the verdict. And a couple of rats watching nearby might be making bets on how many extra sleeves Rabastan's first sweater will have.

"Oh no, no..."

He drops the ball of wool that had his extra needles, and now it's rolled under one of the sofas, so he gets down on hands and knees to start looking for the wayward yarn.

Santo raises his voice slightly.

"Pardon, señor, but do you need assistance?"

About this time, he's got half his head under a sofa.

Which gives his head something to bump into in surprise when he hears the voice.

"Ow! Yes, please."

"All right."

Santo crouches down and begins following the path he last saw the wool take.

"Merlin's beard," he mutters, trying to pick out one round shape from the others. "Does anyone clean under here?"

"Possibly? Although not the rats, I think," says Santo. "They just serve the kitchen and Señorita Bar. The upstairs staff would have to be involved otherwise."

"Wouldn't want to get their paws or fur dirty."

That would violate health codes.

"Wait. I think I see it, but I can't reach it."

"I may be able to," says Santo after some consideration. "I have a good angle- is that it there?"

"Yeah. I think so. I see something sticking out of it."

Santo nods. "All right. If I can't grab it, I'll push it your way- uno, dos-"

On tres he makes his attempt. Which is nearly successful!

Rabastan doesn't speak Spanish, but that's not important.

When the ball rolls over, he grabs at it.

And gets one of the needles.

Hmm.

With the needle in hand, he fishes for it to bring it closer, then grabs it.

Oh, that poor thing is now more a dusty grey than it was a purple ombre.

Santo eyes the yarn ball. "I wonder," he says carefully, "if that could be put through the laundry..."

"It ... probably could," he mourns, picking off little bits of goodness-knows-what from the ball.

Knitting is his no-magic hobby, but maybe he could break the rule just this once to clean off his poor ~~meat~~ yarn ball?

"The alternative would be some sort of tape, I think," says Santo. "At least to get the worst of it off. I don't know how well your yarn would work afterwards, though."

"I'm using it to learn making sleeves, so I guess as long as it's mostly clean it'll do."

"I'll take your word for it," says Santo. "It's not the sort of thing I have ever had to learn, myself."

"Anyway, thanks for your help."

Pause.

"Name's Rabastan. Rabastan Lestrange."

That name won't have any significance to a man in a mask, he hopes.

"A pleasure to meet you, Senor Lestrange," says the wrestler. "I am called El Santo."

Well, the mask covers a lot of expression components, but he doesn't look like he's recognizing anything.

Body language doesn't indicate recognition.

"'El Santo'," he repeats, eying the badge. "Are you new to security?"

He's never gotten into trouble here, and thus never got to meet the team, but maybe it's time to start?

Meeting the team, of course.

He's not inclined towards making trouble.

"No, I've been part of the team for some time," says Santo. "But the door opens for me irregularly, and I've been very busy in Mexico. I thought I should spend some time making sure people could recognize me and know who I was."

"I know who you are now," he says with humour. "What do you do in Mexico? Are you a superhero there?"

There are many reasons to wear a mask.

Superheroism is a positive reason to do so.

"A professional wrestler," says Santo with a slight shake of his head. "The masks are something of a tradition for us. Not all the wrestlers, you understand, but most of us wear them."

"Oh."

Pause.

"I think I've heard of that. Or saw it on the television. But no one wore a mask."
