It has taken painstaking calculation -- several months or more, by the way days are counted in the bar -- to ensure that the passage of time between their worlds is reckoned in the way that they all need it to be.

Moiraine has exchanged more than one carefully coded message with Nynaeve, by now, and is certain of their alignment. Soon, very soon, it will be time to act.

Tonight, however, her errand is a much simpler one. The Aes Sedai glides into Milliways and, upon making a murmured inquiry of the bar, receives a small pack. She glances inside, and a satisfied smile curves her lips.

Moiraine collects the pack and makes her way through the room. Soon after, she is settled at a nearby table with a pot of tea.

Raven laughs.

"I am for being very bad at it. So."

[blue_ajah]

"So I have been given to understand, in the past."

Sometimes by Raven's own actions, in fact.

[creator_raven]

He beams.

"It is not so bad a lesson, that."

And not a very arduous one, either. Comparatively.

(Um.)

[blue_ajah]

"And often a necessary one," the Aes Sedai murmurs.

[creator_raven]

Raven wrinkles his nose.

"That is not so much untrue, I do not think. Most days. For most people. Flesh is tricky, and so is mind."

[blue_ajah]

"I would not disagree."

A considered pause falls between them, as she sips her tea.

"Would you say that one is more tricky than the other?"

[creator_raven]

"That, perhaps, is a question for circumstance, yes? They are not so unconnected."

He inhales another cookie. Okay, maybe two cookies.

[blue_ajah]

"Or for philosophy, I suppose, which is more suited to the sisters of another Ajah entirely."

Moiraine gives a very slight shrug and lets the question pass.

He snorts. Loudly.

Ajahs.

"Minds are trickier, I am thinking, if you are for wanting to preserve them. Or possibly not to be noticed."

[blue_ajah]

"It depends on the matter of notice," she demurs, but does not otherwise disagree.

The look in her eyes is slightly distant, as if she is considering something.

[creator_raven]

Raven tilts his head, the angle awkward and painful-looking, then reaches out to tug at a lock of her hair.

Lightly.

"I am, I think, not so much for mind-reading."

Well. He could be, probably. But he won't. Yet.

[blue_ajah]

"Hm?"

She looks up at him.

"Oh. I was just musing on how best to manage certain aspects of ... international diplomacy, let us say ... in the near future. With all the complexities that people can bring to such a process."

[creator_raven]

He grins, but behind his eyes something vast and old moves, there and gone in a flicker.

"If you are for needing a very loud distraction, possibly I am not so bad at those."

[blue_ajah]

"I shall keep it in mind," Moiraine tells him.

[creator_raven]

He snorts, tugging at her hair again.

"That, too, is not so much a surprise."
