"Someone's feeling flush tonight." Jemma smiles, after waving a hand to catch his attention. "I take it the game tonight went well?"

Tahno sets his helmet on the bar and crosses to her with a spring in his step. He loops an arm around her waist and spins her around, grinning. "Yep," he drawls, kissing her on the cheek. "It was over in fifteen seconds flat. A new record. Pretty boring for the audience, though."

"If I ever go with you to one of these things, you're going to have to draw it out a bit longer." Jemma retorts, laughing, a little giddy from the spin. "That, or you'll owe me a lot of back-stage time."

Tahno chuckles, a rich, smoky sound. "It's a deal," he drawls. "I'll put on a show just for you. It'd help if our opponents were actually people worth fighting, though."

He releases her hip and orders a whiskey at the bar, which he knocks back. "How've ya been, Jemma?"

"I've been good - look, I found these beetles the other day, I've never seen ones this shade of purple before." Jemma grins, showing him the jar she'd put them in. "They're also iridescent in certain types of light."

"Neat," Tahno drawls, bending down to get a better look at the beetles. "They poisonous or anythin' like that? I know how ya like yer bugs poisonous."

"I don't think they are - they might be venomous though, it would explain the bright coloring." It will be a bit disappointing if they aren't toxic at all, but... not all of her finds can be winners.

Tahno taps the jar with a gentle finger. "What's the difference?"

"If they are poisonous, they may kill you if you bite them. If they are venomous, they may kill you if they bite you." Jemma grins. Hey, that joke always gets big laughs in the biolab.

"Good thing I'm neither," Tahno drawls, with a toothy smile. He orders another whiskey, which he plays with this time, sending it spiraling around his fingers. "So you gonna classify all the bugs here or what? Or did ya find these beetles at home?"

"Oh, it's just something to do in my down time. I mean, there's this whole place here, and it doesn't seem right that no one's paying attention to it." Jemma shrugs, awkwardly.

"Fair enough," Tahno drawls, waggling his fingers and making the liquor bounce. "I think it's awesome that yer so dedicated to science. I mean, I wouldn't be workin' with bugs in my downtime. So how 'bout a drink?"

She knows its a bit odd, but... cool bugs. So she just shrugs again, tapping the glass of the jar.

"I wouldn't mind a drink - a larger, perhaps?"

"Bar," Tahno drawls, patting her gently with his free hand, "a larger for the lady if ya don't mind." Bar provides.

He turns back to Jemma. "So have you been inventing anything new in that lab of yers, or just working on older projects?"

"Honestly, not that much time has been passing for me - I've only been back a few times since I last saw you, but for me the door seems to be appearing all the time, where here whole seasons have passed. It's terribly bizarre." Jemma explains, pulling the newly-appeared glass towards herself.

"Yeah, I know how that goes," Tahno drawls, sipping a bit of his whiskey. "I don't even know what day it is here. I haven't been back in a while, so I've missed ya."

Jemma blushes, ridiculously pleased and still a little... not embarrassed, but still. A hot, nice guy missed her.

Nothing wrong with that.

"Thanks, I... thanks."

"Agni, yer cute," Tahno drawls, curling a few strands of hair behind her ear. "What say you to a massage tonight?"

"I am going to be so spoiled - if get locked out for a while I just won't know what to do with myself." Jemma sighs... which really isn't a no. It's just an acknowledgement that she's getting entirely too used to this.

Oh well. She's pretty sure the world won't end.

"I'm not hearin' a no, but I'm not hearin' a yes, either," Tahno drawls, rolling his shoulders in a luxurious stretch. "So what's wrong with bein' spoiled once in a while?"

... That is just a yummy roll of muscle, yes it is, honestly, he can just do that all night and...

She checks, briefly, that all of that was said with the voice inside her head, rather than the outer one. Thank goodness.

"Nothing, just.. won't happen... well, at all, if I'm on the Bus for long periods, so... you know, it'll be different."

"Well, there ain't nothin' wrong with bein' spoiled by me," Tahno drawls, running his finger across her cheek. He drags the pad of his thumb across her lower lip, smirking. "And I like spoilin' ya, so it's fair, right? So you gonna let me spoil ya tonight or what?"

"Well... yes, of course, I'd have to have my sanity checked to turn an offer like that down." She rolls her eyes at him, fondly.

"Good," Tahno drawls, folding his arms across his broad chest. "I needed a 'go ahead', y'know? So what are you up to fer tomorrow? Finding more beetles?"

Oh, he can do that all night too, that's fine, with lots of tight, firm muscle...

...

Oh good, that was with the inside voice too.

"Most likely, unless I go back to the Bus - I'm trying to set up the 0-8-4 protocol, but there's the whole 'getting interrupted by a bar every two hours' thing.
