When Autor steps through the door today, his clothes remain the same: white pants, oversized gray sweater, and glasses. What changes are the ears. Not his, necessarily--those still remain human--but he sprouts fuzzy, gray, and pointed kitten ears on top of his head with a soft, "Oh!" The tail is also new, and telegraphs his body language as the tip curves upward in agitation.

"Really?" he calls up to the ceiling. "Come on!"

Experimentally, he brushes his fingers against one of his fuzzy new appendages--and tears his hand away, blushing. They point in different directions, moving independently of one another to show his ambivalence with the costume.

Jay rests a hand in Autor's gently, letting him lead where he wants to go. "No pressure, Autor. You're in control here. If you want, we can do nothing more than pet and scratch."

Autor brings Jay's knuckles to his lips. "We can do more than that," he says warmly, drawing a breath through his nose. "Your place or mine?"

"Yours? Than way you can kick me out when you've had enough." He flashes Autor a smile, "That and I've been back to my room once in the last week and a half. I suspect it's a bit of a disaster zone."

"That's fair," Autor says, chuckling. He clambers out of Jay's lap and squeezes his hand, leading him up to his room.
