Guppy isn't in handcuffs. Lucky for him his wife fed him at home*.

Instead, he's sitting on a rug near the fire with his youngest kid, Gil, who is doing some sort of tea party, he thinks, with cups and a small amount of water. Though if he didn't know better, Gil just offered him a 'costa' before trying to put the empty teapot on his head.

Botherable!

[*Fran being the slightly less bad at cooking of the two of them, and it being Tuesday]

And he is being bothered.

Amanda walks in from outside, mostly dry of sweat. Once she see's Gil she makes decides it would be best to get clean so she rushes up the 8 flights of stairs, building up a bit more of a sweat, but takes a full shower before changing into some fresh clothes and coming back down.

Therefore, a slightly out of breath Amanda is standing next to their table with a large grin, "Good Evening!"

"Tee!" Gil shouts, bashing the plastic teapot on the floor.

"Hey Amanda." Guppy looks up and smiles. "Gil, inside voice."

Amanda chuckles, "I think he has the right idea."

She gives Guppy a quick hug before taking a seat across from him. "How are you doing?"

"I'm okay, how are you?" Guppy asks.

The little boy gets up off the floor, and toddles over to Amanda with his hands raised.

"Up-py?"

"I am well." she grins.

"You want up?" she asks as she reaches to pick him up.

"Up-py!" Gil reaches up again.

"Yeah, looks like two out of four of my kids like a cuddle." Guppy grins. "Although Brooke will cuddle for a minute, until she bounces off."

Amanda picks Gil up and give him a hug.

"Yes it does. Though all four are sweethearts."

"Thanks. It's weirdly quiet at the moment, Fry's on a school trip."

"I hope you guys are enjoying it while it lasts."

"Where has he gone for the school trip?"

"Something called the Nature House." Guppy says. "He's looking at trees or bulbs or mould or something... he seems excited about it. We were already committed to Coral's Rainbows enrolment so he got to go without us."

"I'm sure he is doing great. He's very mature for his age. Perhaps that's because he's an older brother?"

"He's mature at his school work." Guppy says. "But the gap between him and his peers seems to be getting gradually a little wider."

"He is amazing." she grins, though she can understand Guppy's concern.

"Don't you think so?" she talks to Gil, "Isn't Fry amazing?"

"Ry!" Gil says, bouncing on her knee.

"He is." Guppy smiles thankfully at her. "His teacher thinks he could take his age 16 maths exam at twelve, but it's going to be much harder once he hits secondary school for him to learn everything all at different levels."

Amanda helps him bounce, keeping her hands on Gil to make certain he is safe.

"He'll adapt. And we'll all be here for him." she grins.

"His teacher said we'd almost be better off coaching him to do it earlier." Guppy says. "But we want him to have as normal an education as possible."

She nods in agreement, "Yes, and being with kids his own age for a time is good as well."

"It is. Well, they're a little bit older, he was skipped ahead one year, so he's a few months younger than the youngest in his year."

"That's not so bad. As time goes on the age difference will seem less impressive." she can't remember being that young.

"I'm not so sure about that." Guppy says. "Fry's psychologist thinks it'll get harder with time."

"Is that so? I can't say I know what it's like to be in school."

"Because of his autism." Guppy says. "Apparently the gap is more pronounced in adolescence."

"Oh, is there anything we can do to help?"

"For now, just keep being his friend, help him explain things."

"I can do that." she grins.

"Eepo!" Gil says suddenly.

"Nah, not singing the teapot song right now." Guppy says.

Amanda looks at Guppy, "Are you certain?" because she would love to sing with Gil.

"Oh go on then. But if he wants it again it's your turn." Guppy rolls his eyes then quietly sings.

"I'm a little teapot
Short and stout

When I see the teacups

Tip me up and pour me out!"

"I'm totally in." she grins and starts singing along.

Gil demands she sing it at least three more times.

Amanda happily accommodates Gil.
