'Homecoming! *way backdated*
Sonya opens the door with a mix of trepidation, relief and exhaustion. "Thank fuck, it's here!" She turned behind her to let the others inside: Rollo, Ragnar and Brienne of Tarth..they didn't have to aide her, but they did and Sonya wasn't sure how she could thank them enough. "We're in milliways..drinks are on me."
They'd won. Much as Sonya hoped and prayed, the fact was that no war went on as planned. Much as she promised to get everyone safe, there was no guarantee that they'd make it: yet here they all were, bloodied (some of the blood stains bright green from the creatures they fought), injured and worn out, but alive. The Door had actually been appeared a day after Earth had returned to normal, but it gave them all a day to get their injuries checked and regroup, long enough to contact her superiors and demand that they listen to her and Jax when things were settled.
Now, now Sonya found herself even more exhausted, her breath stiff from the pain in her ribs. They hadn't had the time, but she judged from the pain, bruising and lack of blood that she may've bruised a few ribs. A good part of her face was also severely bruised and still a little swollen, but that along with her other injuries were now strangely numb (she wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.
She made sure to set her weapons by the door, before heading to the bathroom for a quick shower and change of clothes-maybe some painkillers. The shokan and Centaurs may've been different races, but apparently they both bled the same, bright green color..and like human blood, that stuff stank when it dried.
A half hour later, she's back and trying to catch some sleep on the sofa. Maybe a part of her meant to go back to her room, but the sofa was right there.
ooc: Not plot locked, but aforementioned pups feel free to tag in as well. Sonya's visible injuries are a large bruise on the left side of her face and gauze all along her left arm. She's clearly exhausted, but feel free to say hi..or for the players involved, just reaction threads.

Nothing like a nap after a tough battle.

The feel of something draping over her snaps her awake, frowning as it takes her a moment to recall where she was. Then a look down to see that she hadn't recalled even getting a blanket.

Inwardly, she was well aware she could go to her room, but even as she couldn't really sleep, she couldn't really bring herself to leave the sofa either. "Sorry, you meaning to sit down?"
no subject
"Sleep will come, but it may take time. At least rest." the other woman's wounds look like they have been tended to but she wonders if Guppy should take a look at them.

A rat brings her a pint of ale and bowl of strange food. She examines the bound gashes on her arm. It could be worse.

"How's the arm?" Frankly, Sonya was glad she still had an arm in the first place: glad they all came out with their limbs intact.

She had gone up to her room and taken stock of the current state of all her injuries (and cleaned up a little, though there's still blood oozing through the gauze on her arm) before coming back down. So she knows she's telling the truth when she says, "It's healing." And not gangrenous, or anything like that.
She also put her rifle in her room, and she hopes it won't have vanished when she goes up there. "How's yours? And your--" She gestures at her face.

Won't be the same as field work, and with the work needed to be done she couldn't take it easily. On the other hand, it would still be considered a sort of break compared to the past few weeks. "You did good out there."
She made it alive of course, but Sonya knew well enough that learning about the enemy was nothing like facing them head on.

It's an academic point now - seeing Sonya in the state she's in inspires relief more than anything else. If she has bruises, it means she's still alive.
Cassie slides quietly into a chair across from Sonya.
"How'd it go?"

She's inbetween stages of sleep and being awake when she hears someone address her, and takes it as a side effect of battle that it takes her a moment to recognize Cassie's voice. In answer, she gives her a thumb's up with her good arm. "We won, Liu challenged and beat Kahn's ass to Outworld. Military has no choice but to believe us."
She almost laughed, but doing so was too painful. "It's bad when I think a time off is a good idea." It's bad when it comes from a self professed workaholic: even worse, she knew she wouldn't have time to take time off. They may've won, but there was too much shit to get done.

He'd have his hands busy with Kitana and Sindel.

"Well. That's...different."

However her state is unexpected, as he had come through the door while she was cleaning up, and had turned to see who was flopping onto the sofa nearby. Clearly she had been in a battle recently, though recovering. Briefly, he turns to search for Raiden but returns his focus to her as she tried resting.
He relocates quickly, bringing his cup of tea over to a nearby table and taking a knee next to the low table there, looking at her with concern on his face, though inexpressible with his glowing white eyes.
"Do you need anything?" His first words with her will be to test the waters, knowing what little he does of the differences between him and the Raiden who also visited the bar.

Carefully, she tried to push herself up to a sitting position.

"I am an ally of Raiden. My name is Fujin." He stays on knee, not wanting to stand over her. "I'm sorry to wake you, but I was concerned..."

The divine law was pretty clear on 'godly interference' so she supposed it explained why she hadn't heard of him, but even so. "And I'm fine, nothing time won't heal."
no subject
"Or it could be we were not meant to meet where you are from. The Raiden I met here is somewhat different from the one I have known." He sighs, sliding so he can sit by his tea on the low coffee table.
"I'm still glad to hear you will recover. My apologies for the interruption."

He sips mead from a horn cup, preferring to let Sonya try for sleep if she wills.

Her eyes open a crack when she hears someone sit by her, seeing who it is. Carefully, she tries to sit up. "Have some of that?" Who knows, it might help her relax.

"It was a great battle, all the more so for our victory."

His remark made her smile all the same, recalling how she finally defeated (and she hoped) the bastard Kano. If by the devil's luck he did survive, she couldn't bring herself to care: she'd tricked and killed him when he got overconfident, either way it served him right. "They're already calling it the Battle for Earthrealm."
She was just glad they lived long enough to look back. "Just glad it's over."

"Is there another drink you would prefer? Ale or wine? Perhaps something from your own time?"
