Bonnie is at the bar, looking at various pictures of dresses. White is out of the question - at least a couple of the guests will know from personal experience why - and the fact that she has certainly a little bit of a bump is limiting her options.

"I mean, it's lovely." she says to Bar, tapping one of the more glamorous dresses. "But it'll definitely need some elastic or somethin'."

Another picture pops up, and she looks at it.

"That one looks more bump appropriate." But way too expensive. "I don't know if it's too flashy though, you sure I shouldn't get married in my biker stuff?"

'Yes I'm sure.'

Tahno sashays up to the bar as if he owns it, glancing over at Bonnie's choices. "Pickin' out a dress, huh?" he drawls, setting his whiskey glass on the counter for a refill. "What's the occasion?"

"Tryin' to." Bonnie says. "My fiancé thinks I should get married in a dress rather than my biker colours."

[hot_water]

"Huh," Tahno drawls, making his whiskey jump out of its glass with a waggle of his fingers. "Can ya find a dress that uses yer biker colors?"

[is_the_motion]

"Colours are more like... a badge." Bonnie says. "And a logo. Not so much actual colour."

[hot_water]

"Ah, right, like the Triple Threat Triad Has on their uniforms," Tahno drawls, nodding thoughtfully. "So why does your fiance get an opinion on somethin' that'll make ya uncomfortable?"

[is_the_motion]

"Ain't so much that." Bonnie says. "He just thinks I don't got to be ashamed of my body. And he's probably right."

[hot_water]

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Tahno drawls, holding his hands up. "Why would ya be ashamed of yer body?"

Bonnie sits up a little straighter, indicating the slight bump.

"Because by the wedding I'll be just over four months pregnant."

[hot_water]

Tahno's gaze flicks to the bump and back to her face. "Oh. I gotcha. Nah, that ain't nothin' to be ashamed of. That sort of stuff happens all the time. Is your fiance the father?"

[is_the_motion]

"Uh huh." Bonnie nods.

"It's quite a big deal in the 1950s.

[hot_water]

"Well," Tahno drawls, rubbing the back of his neck. "I ain't from yer Earth, so I dunno any context about what happens in the 50s. I hope people won't get all judgy or nothin'."

[is_the_motion]

"They will, but not the folks I'm invitin'." Bonnie says.

[hot_water]

"Yeah, I gotcha," Tahno drawls, shaking his head. "I don't get why people gotta hard on for bein' respectable. Sorry to hear yer already catchin' some fire for it."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"It's your wedding," Yamato says, wandering over with his hands in his pockets. "Once people have dropped off the gifts, you can pretty much throw them out if they don't like what you're wearing."

He's only half joking.

"Good backup plan." Bonnie says. "Groom reckons I should wear some sort of frock though."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"You can throw him out, too, once he's dropped off the ring," Yamato jokes.

[is_the_motion]

"Nah, don't fancy bringin' up four kids on my own." Bonnie says. "Three's enough."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Oh, you're pregnant?" asks Yamato 'Most Observant of the Chosen, Apparently' Ishida.

[is_the_motion]

"Yeah." Bonnie nods. "About four months. Bump's gettin' hard to hide so everyone'll know soon enough."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Congratulations. Assuming you want to be pregnant, that is."

What? Not everyone does.

Indeed not. Mun uses 'how are you feeling about that' quite often.

"Thanks." Bonnie smiles. "It was a bit of a shock but if we can get through alive and healthy I'll be happy."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Well, hopefully the wedding goes well," Yamato says. "How long until it happens?"

"Couple weeks - do you want to come to the hen party?"

[angry_friendship_wolf]

Yamato laughs, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'll pass, thanks. I'd probably stand out like a sore thumb."

"The party's here, and the Scouts are invited, so you should be fine."
