Noriko backs into Milliways after several weeks in bar-time of having...well, not been there, and this time she's mid-toss of a bag of savory rice crackers away towards a friend. Her hair is mostly-braided and the rest left loose, recently cut and freshly colored into the usual electric blue, and she appears to be laughing. (You'd be mistaken for not thinking she was capable of that expression.)

"I'll be right back, I gotta get up for a second. Three hours sitting down and I'm gonna explode."

Well, sure, it might be hyperbole, but she's hungry for more than crackers and fidgety as hell and really, really wants this hairstyle in and done with already, and they haven't even gotten to actual styling. This is the only downside to braids. Really.

"Hello, Noriko," Dr. Hannibal Lecter says from behind her, neatly stepping aside so she doesn't bump into him.

[electro_kinetic]

"I figured you'd be here," she sighs, looking sideways at Hannibal. "Somehow, you always are."

She won't ask if he's out of the nut palace yet.

"I like to see my friends when I can," Hannibal answers.

"You were in the middle of having your hair done?"

[electro_kinetic]

"Nah, I just decided to stop halfway through it," she says dryly. "I'm almost done. Decided I wanted it in braids again."

[cook_the_rude]

"I'm sure you'll find somebody here to help you with it," Hannibal says.

[electro_kinetic]

"Or I can just go back," she says. "Unless you feel like finishing."

[cook_the_rude]

"I doubt I could do it," Hannibal says, "but maybe Sinric can."

[electro_kinetic]

"Aw, never learned to braid for your girlfriend?" she asks teasingly.

[cook_the_rude]

"I never had one with braids," Hannibal says. "And Sinric does his own hair."

[electro_kinetic]

"You should learn," she says. "Who knows, maybe your boyfriend could use the help." Noriko's hair, however, at the moment looks fine, if half-braided; it happens to be complete on one side, and she habitually leaves the middle loose anyway. It just looks like an undercut, if not actually cut.

"He has other people to help him with that sort of thing," Hannibal says.

"Oh? You sleep with him, but won't do his hair in the morning? How rude," she says dryly.

"He is quite independent, and vain -- I doubt he'd want me to mess up his look," Hannibal smells.

Amanda is at the bar to order some lunch when Noriko comes so she is nearby. Dressed in white dress and slipper shoes, her own hair up in a ponytail.

Not being able to help over hearing the conversation she chuckles, smiling warmly, "Don't like to sit still?" she inquires, no judgement in her tone, in fact it might have a hint of empathy.

Noriko is not in anything close to white and slippers; she's in a bright yellow tee and jeans, converses and a checked scarf tucked into one pocket. She might have a little quizzical expression on her face by the time she gets to looking at Amanda.

"Uh," she says. "It's more like I've been sitting down for a couple hours already."

Amanda's going for comfortable with a hint of fashion at the moment. "Well I can't think of a better place to stretch one's legs then Milliways.

Offering her hand, "Amanda."

[electro_kinetic]

"I...can," Nori says honestly. "But it's not really an option for me right now. And anyway I'm already here."

She takes he hand, though hers are still, as always, covered in her metal gauntlets. "Noriko."

Amanda doesn't mind the gauntlets but she is curious, "Nice to meet you, Noriko."

Once her hand is back she asks, "That is a nice gauntlet." she hasn't seen someone wearing a gauntlet in ages.

"Thanks," she says. "I kind of have to wear them. Electrokinesis being a small problem otherwise for human coexistence."

"So functional and fashionable. That's wonderful."

"Electrokinesis, So you control electricity?" because it's an unusual power, even in her scifi movies and books.

[electro_kinetic]

"I do, though I wouldn't call these strictly fashionable." Makes it kinda hard to wear any jewelry below the elbows, and all.

"You know, force lightning and all." She'd make a terrible jedi, though. Awful.

"The beauty of Milliway is that fashionable is redefined."

Amanda nods, "I've heard of it."

[electro_kinetic]

"Or that fashionable is undefinable, either way," she says.

[immortalthief]

"Either way." Amanda grins.

[electro_kinetic]

Noriko shrugs, and tosses her half-braided hair over to the other side of her head so it exposes the cornrows, mimicking an undercut.
