[[OOC: After Ragnar struck a deal with Abe no Seimei, Gyda is given a new living body by magic.]]


Ragnar comes in through the front door, held open by Abe no Seimei, who however stays back, and closes the door behind him.

He is carrying his daughter Gyda in his arms; she seems sick, or perhaps very, very exhausted.

He looks around, for his friends or Gyda's.

Weak as she is, Gyda manages to look around, both proud at what just happened, but almost hoping she doesn't recognize anyone. She still feels tired and weak, but she doesn't want to give the impression that she needs this much help either.

"Shall we sit on the sofa?" Ragnar offers.

There, she would seem less helpless, just exhausted.

She meant to be seated at the table, but for how tired she felt. "Sofa, the side closest by one of the tables."

Hopefully she could pull off trying to eat something.

Ragnar deposits her on a sofa, in easy reach of a side table.

"Hot chocolate?" he suggests.

She tried to sit herself up, resting on the tops of her knees. "Yes..and some toast with jam." She needed something to eat, but hot chocolate seemed like a really good idea.

Ragnar orders it (and a cup of mead for himself) from the rats, and flops on the couch beside her.

"Do you feel different?" he asks.

She looks at herself and her arms, shaking them a little. "Not..not really? Only very sore." How was she supposed to feel?

"Not more alive yet?"

[like_quicksilver]

She frowned. "Well, I felt 'alive' already. Atleast here.." She looked past him to the wall. "The only way we'll know is..is if I can make it through your door?"

She didn't want to think on that. Not because of fear, but she'd been away from home for so long. If she was able to go back...she wasn't sure if she'd be able to contain herself.

A rat returned with their drinks and a plate of toast for Gyda.

"I suppose we will,have to,wait until things change," Ragnar says. "Then we will see that you are really alive again."

He drinks his mead, thirstily.

Both okay?

Jay spots them on the couch and gives them a nod. "Ragnar, Gyda. You guys okay?"

Ragnar's kinda, sorta a friend and Gyda is one of the scouts. Don't hurt to look out for them.

"Ragnar!" Athelstan arrives at a run. "Is she all right?"

Re: Both okay?

"Guess so," Ragnar says, grinning at Jay from over his mead. "There was magic."

He looks at Gyda, as it's her story to tell.

"Athelstan!" Ragnar calls back. "It worked! This is a new Gyda!"

He reaches to help support her weight, more because he wants to than because Ragnar needs him to.

"Wonderful", he says softly.

"Let's get her to the couch," Ragnar says. "Seimeimsaid she'd be weak as a kitten at first."

[athelstanthescribe]

She's drowsed off, in fact.

"When she wakes, we can get her something to eat."

[bigarmy_strangepants]

"And hot chocolate," Ragnar says. "Seimei said she wouldn't be able to eat much at first. After all, this is a brand-new body which has never eaten before."

With Athelstan's help, he gently deposits her on a sofa.

Athelstan nods, his arm protectively around Gyda.

"Nothing too rich, then, to begin with."

Ragnar sits beside them, on the other side of Gyda.

"Soup first, maybe," he says. "When she wakes up."

Np point in ordering it when she might sleep for hours.

Another nod. "When she wakes, so it won't go cold."

He's only just getting to grips with the reality of this.

"She is alive," Ragnar says, quietly. "She will grow up; she might find love and have children, even if in another world. She is no longer of this place, and has all her life before her -- again."

He looks into Athelstan's eyes, then down at Gyda.

[athelstanthescribe]

"Everything she deserves." He strokes her hair.

[bigarmy_strangepants]

"We don't usually get what we deserve," Ragnar says, "but we managed to get Gyda something better than merely this place, something she can grow into and enjoy, as she would have had she not died."

Athelstan nods.

"And she can do with it as she chooses."
