Hen Party!

So, since she's not allowed to drink, everyone gets to come to the party. Bonnie likes that. After all, it's not like anyone's going to strip...

She posts a sign up on the back door before she goes to the Scout hut to set up.

Bonnie's Hen Party
Adults and kids both welcome
Free food!
(no stripping please!)

She's been doing a lot of baking, so feel free to just pitch up and take cake.

Tahno sashays over, drawn by the music. As soon as he finds a piece of cake, he saunters over to Bonnie. "Hello, beautiful," he drawls. "What's the occasion?"

"What's a hen party?" Tahno drawls, looking around the place for chickens. "Hey, how are ya?"

Rae does not dance terribly well. In her own estimation, she just dances terribly.

But that certainly doesn't stop her.

(ooc: Mun is in and out depending on wifi availability tonight, but will be around as much as she can.)

Bonnie isn't all that good at dancing either, so she's doing that sort of moving around business that kind of counts as dancing but is basically just moving in time to music.

Rae firmly believes that one should dance when one wants to, no matter how good - or bad - one might be at dancing.

The point of dancing is to enjoy it!

At some stage, Ragnar is watching her with a smile.

You can't quite tell whether he likes what he sees, or finds it secretly funny.

There are reasons why Rae is a baker and not a dancer. Some of them are pretty easily spotted, when she dances.

But she doesn't care! She's having fun, and the music is good.

"Hey there, Ragnar!" she greets the smiling, wallflower Viking with a grin. "Having a good time?"

Athelstan has never learned to dance. He's being a wallflower as well, but smiles as he watches her.

Never learning to dance might be Rae's excuse, as well. She isn't very good at it. But she's enjoying herself, and her smile only brightens when she sees Athelstan has come to the party.

"Athelstan! Hello!" she says, in brighter spirits than the last time he saw her.

Emcee ventures out of the bar to find the Scout Hut, and seeing it's a children's facility he enters with just the barest hint of reluctance. But he decides it's not so bad when he hears the music called rock and roll playing. And guests dancing to it. (Or attempting to?)

Athelstan isn't dancing, until such time as somebody prods him into it. He greets Emcee with a smile, though.

"Hello."

"Athelstan!" he sings out cheerfully, as he draws him in to give him a peck on the cheek.

"Fancy meeting you here, darling," he then says wryly. "How are you?"

"I would not miss this for anything, even if there won't be any stripping."

Food!

There's a wide variety of baked goods, pies and pastries, and a buffet of delicious things.

Not a lot of alcohol, because kids, but nothing to stop you bringing it from the bar.

Ragnar comes wandering in and eyes the food, wandering up and down the buffet table without touching anything.

It all looks so very sumptuous.

Knowing Bonnie likes to cook, too, Rae has scoured catalogs provided by the Bar and selected a couple of nice kitchen gadgets she thinks Bonnie might like to have. A nice 1950s-era stand mixer, and a rolling pin made of green marble. The weight of the rolling pin makes it easier to roll dough out flat without having to bear down on it, and when making flaky pastries, the rolling pin can be put in the freezer beforehand to make the marble cold enough that it won't melt the butter in the pastry dough.
