Look, Yamato's not avoiding going back to Odaiba. You're avoiding going back to Odaiba, okay? Not - definitely not him.

Which is why he can be found outside, engaging in what is absolutely not a thin excuse not to go back to his own world. Two dozen targets have been set up all around the lake area, and Yamato's perched at the edge of the lake with a stopwatch, as Garurumon - a couple of times the size of a horse, blue and white, with fur turning into feathers at the edges - darts between them, tagging each one with the tip of his nose as he passes.

"That was two minutes twenty seconds," Yamato says as Garurumon finishes a run and comes padding back. "Let's take a break and then try and get it down to under two minutes."

Both of them are botherable, especially if anyone has food. It's hungry work, after all.

Bonnie has a pack of sandwiches and is on a bench nearby. Looks like she'd be willing to share, as she's given them a wave.

Albeit not the most exciting food.

Garurumon approaches after a while, giving Bonnie a wide grin before picking up the pack of sandwiches in his jaws, delicately moving them to his other side.

Those are his sandwiches now.

There will be no sharing.

"Hey, Bonnie," Yamato says, approaching.

Tsk, stealing food from a visibly pregnant woman? Shame on him ;).

She can get more.

"Hey Yamato." Bonnie grins at him. "What you guys up to?"

It's dubious how far Garurumon even understands what pregnancy is.

"We're wasting time!" Garurumon says, with all of Gabumon's usual bright enthusiasm. His voice is nearly the same as Gabumon's, but deeper, and somewhat more adult.

"We're training," Yamato says, picking up the pack of sandwiches and putting it down again next to Bonnie. Garurumon eases over him to try and pick it up again. "Seeing if Garurumon can't hit all the targets in under two minutes."

"Sounds like fun." Bonnie may have to steal that game for the Scouts, though maybe make it a bit easier. "You two want a sandwich?"

"What kind are they?" Yamato asks. He's very specific about sandwiches.

Garurumon is - not, which is why there's a snout the size of a man's torso easing towards the pack.

"Ham and cheese." Bonnie says. "And home made pickle."

Yamato considers for a moment, before taking out two ham and cheeses. One is offered to Garurumon, who swallows it in one bite, while Yamato gingerly chews on his.

"Any good?"

"They're great!" Garurumon says with enthusiasm, and noses at the pack - very, very carefully, because he could easily crush it if he isn't.

"Here." Bonnie takes out one more sandwich for herself, then hands them the rest to share. "I can make more later, help yerselves. How you keepin'?"

"Just fine," Yamato says, perhaps a little too quickly.

"He's a little frustrated at Taichi, our leader," Garurumon stage-whispers to Bonnie.

"I hear yer, my boss is a piece of work too." Bonnie nods.

"He isn't my boss," Yamato grumbles.

"What is he?" Bonnie asks.

"He's the source of fifty percent of the team's hair," Garurumon chirps.

"There's a pretty big difference between a boss and a leader. For starters, he doesn't pay me," Yamato says, ignoring his partner.

"He sheds hair on you?" Bonnie asks. "Or he just got a lot?"

She nods again at Yamato.

"Just bosses you around huh?"

"He just has a lot," Garurumon says. "Yamato's upset because he's not being bossed around enough."

"No," Yamato says, testily, "I'm not, and you're being really unhelpful today." He gives Garurumon a quick shove.

"You feel he ain't givin' you enough direction?"
