Emcee quickly leaves the cells after speaking to Jay. Quickly, because he doesn't want anyone to see him crying.
And he immediately turns to go upstairs to his room. He doesn't stop at the bar, doesn't stop to say hello to anyone. He just runs away.

Well, first he hears him. His heartbeat. His breathing. The small sounds he thinks he is suppressing.
Then he sees him.
Running away from whatever.
Humans.
He finishes his drink, rather enjoying that he doesn't have to do anything.
Just people watching.
Other people's shit luckily isn't his.
A little while later, he walks upstairs. He's almost done with a book. He passes Emcee's door almost on the way and hears -

You never know with the hysterical ones. And it would be a shame if he did something stupid. Something -
So he knocks.
