OOM and EP
OOM: After her last mission on Balmorra, Ibani returns to Darth Zash and gets her next assignment.
And Nar Shaddaa is a shock to the system.
Ibani was expecting the lift to open onto one of the decidedly less pleasant parts of Nar Shaddaa, not Milliways, but she'll take the excuse for a break from her current mission readily enough.
It takes one or two steps into the Bar before the strangeness sets in. Milliways doesn't normally look this much like what's she's accustomed to. She can't shake the feeling that there's some joke she's not getting...
(OOC: Open for tags until I give her another EP.)

"Weird, isn't it," he says to the newest arrival.

The symbol on Kirk's uniform is similar to the one used by the Republic in her time, but THEY wear beige and the rank insignia are rather different.
"Did your outfit get changed by....whatever is going on?" Call it an educated guess.
no subject
"Just another day in Milliways, I suppose. Did it affect you?"
no subject
"I wasn't affected, but that may be due to my already fitting the decor." She was already in costume, as it were.
no subject
"So where are you from? And this isn't a laser?" Blaster pistol? That could mean anything, though he doubts it uses bullets.

Ibani's black robes are rather more weapon proof than normal fabric, but that's not blatantly obvious. She's also carrying a strange looking metal cylinder on one hip. (It's a lightsaber, but Jim isn't likely to know that.)
"It looks like the kind that fires plasma to me, but I'm no expert. I've never even used one, personally." Blasters are for people who can't use force lightning.
no subject
"I come from the planet Earth, which I would guess you know if only by the reputation it has in the Bar." Everyone seems to come from Earth, a fact that Jim has always found unlikely.
"Plasma. I remember reading that someone tried to make a plasma gun. It never went well." It tended to leave behind craters.
He wonders if he should take off the holster.
no subject
"Well, if it's from my universe it should be safe enough so long as you don't damage it. From what I understand you have to work at it to make anything catastrophic happen with them."
Unlike, say, lightsabers, which can cut off the user's limbs as easily as it cuts through anything else.
Belatedly, she remembers that she hasn't introduced herself. "My name is Ibani, by the way."
no subject
"I'm tempted to go outside and play with this, but that would be incredibly foolhardy." Which doesn't stop him from smiling.
no subject
"Well, I could keep an eye on you while you test that out?" she offers. "I'm capable of putting you back together if you have a little accident, and there IS a firing range out back."
no subject
"It might just be better not to have an accident. Do you know the basics of how this would work." He still hasn't taken it out of the holster.
no subject
"I have a basic idea of how they work, yes." She's had enough of them fired at her, after all.
no subject
"I'm game. And really pretty alert, too. I guess this stuff, whatever it is, has caffeine."
no subject
"The Force is quite difficult to explain to people who can't sense it," Ibani replies in response to his raised eyebrow.
"Could be kaf," Ibani offers. "I know that has caffeine in it."

"Do you recall the names of these friends? I haven't met many Force sensitives here."
no subject
"Come to think of it, I think he had one of those." Jim points at the light saber. "I never paid any attention to it, though."
no subject
"It's called a lightsaber," she replies after he points at it. "He must have been Force sensitive. People who try to use one without that capability...don't fare well."
Missing limbs, missing heads, you get the picture.

He wonders what Ray's up to now. For different values of now, anyway.

"So this healing skill...you work as a doctor of some sort?"

Putting herself back together after battle, or training, or torture. Sith training is, well, horrific, to put it mildly.
(OOC: Goodnight. Sleep well!)

"It's amazing what sounds reasonable when your alternative is bleeding to death."
no subject
"Have you met him? Dr. McCoy? He's here sometimes." And always from the past. Which never fails to confuse Jim.
