So arresting Henry was weird.

And it has, to his faint irritation, set Hotspur into a rare contemplative mood. Of course, even a year on, having the time and space to be forced to actually think things through is still not a circumstance to which he is accustomed. But when riding, practicing, tramping through the woods, riding again, and then practicing some more do nothing to dispel his nagging thoughts, he ends up sitting at the bar, prodding moodily at a plate of leafy greens that the bar insists are meant to be eaten.

(He is skeptical.)

Harry Percy and Lesgle get along best when they don't actually interact. It's true. But here we are, Lesgle putting away some clean glasses behind the bar, and Harry Percy picking at a salad, and it's only natural to say hello.

And perhaps less advisedly, "I heard there was a bit of a set-to? Monmouth vs. Jim-of-England?"

"Ay, so there was." He knows that if their positions were reversed, he'd prefer such a thing not to be spoken of, but-- well, Hal didn't seem to mind.

And for some reason Lesgle just isn't too terribly concerned about the tender feelings of Henry V. (Though he might, possibly, be interested in Harry Percy's feelings about Henry V.)

"Odd sort of a man, Jim. Setting explosives in stables and all that."

Harry scowls. "I know not what to make of him. He hath a strange love of chaos."

"Mmm. We've gotten along with perfect civility, mind you, but without addressing the issue of arson." Lesgle can get along civilly with quite a few people. Even Harry Percy! See, he's going to lean in and ask whether he'd like a little more oil and pepper on his salad. "Not that I doubt Madame Bar in the slightest, a fine chef, but greens are so very...green. --So Henry V is sitting in a cell now. Hm."

"Hello," X says, matter-of-factly.

How did she end up sitting right next to Harry?

Who can say!

How did she, though? Uh.

"--good day." Not that he's startled. At all.

Silently dropping from the rafters is a component of her skillset. Probably.

"You have made your first arrest."

[harryhotspur]

He straightens up a bit. "If I have done aught amiss..."

"No."

X shakes her head, just once.

"You did well."

Beat.

"You liked it? Or it bothered you."

William noticed Harry on his various rides and sits down next to him to get his own dinner, "Evenin'."

Harry nods in greeting. "William, good day."

[not_his_pa]

"Did you have a good ride?"

Harry doesn't seem his normal self but William's not certain how he might ask what's wrong.

"O, ay, I am always glad to be a-horseback," he replies. "And how farest thou?"

[not_his_pa]

"Good, the horses are always happy when you're around."

"Harry! Hello!" Joly is not in an especially heavy mood. It has been a morning of Science!; one of the cats found a way to activate one of the flying machines, to great effect; and, in general, he's a little winded but highly amused about life as he comes down for lunch.

Harry definitely isn't though, and it reminds Joly of more serious matters. "--Is everything all right? has there been some-- any trouble, anything I should know about?"

For reasons of being Infirmary Staff. Not gossip.(Not just gossip.)(But please, gossip, Harry.)

"Joly, good day! Nay, there is naught amiss." For himself, anyway! "How dost thou?"

"Oh, I'm doing fine, fine--I think I made a breakthrough with my antigrav generators--one of my flying devices?-- of course I could have just read about it, I did read about it, but I didn't understand, you know, not really, the applications! I should be able to make a much more powerful field now!" Aren't you glad you asked, Harry. "I expect I'll be in my lab for a few hours, so I wanted to get lunch outside first." The thought makes him notice Harry's plate. " -- is that--all you're having?" Salad? Do knights even eat salad?

Harry nods and tries to look interested! Or like he understands at all!

Then he gives the salad another dubious poke. "Madam Bar did give it me. Methinks it is a jest."

"It's a salad, it's very...healthy." Joly does not sound very convinced. Joly is not very convinced. He's read the nutritional studies, but it still goes against everything he knew about food his entire lifetime--which was a very different sort of lifetime than the people writing the futuristic nutritional texts, after all. "Surely you need more than that? You're hardly, well. Sedentary." Really, now.

Some time after Harry's had a while to pick at his leaves, Feuilly comes quietly along, and takes the seat beside him. "--Did you ask for that, or was it Bar's idea?"

"Oh, Madam Bar, thou canst be sure."

He's already grinning, before Harry finishes the sentence. "Well, it's probably healthy. Or something like that. Here, if you don't want it, I'll eat it, and her feelings won't be hurt, right?"

Harry eagerly pushes the plate towards Feuilly. "Thou'rt a most charitable friend."

Feuilly takes the plate, laughing. "And I'll order a, hmm--" a sideways glance at Harry, "--a steak pie? That you can share." What a cunning plot, right? He takes a bite of salad and shrugs. It's all right. A bit heavy on the pepper. "...So England and Iceland play each other."
