Prior to the fair (and Milliways if she was honest), Gyda had never heard of squash of any sort. The books said they were from the new world, but for sending something to the fair, she wanted to really challenger herself. They were hard to grow, as the judges stated, but she didn't think second place was all that bad-it was second place.
Besides, the prize didn't take away from the fact that she had a lot of zucchini and yellow squash around. There was no way she was going to let it go to waste.
The rest of the day would find Gyda in the milliways kitchen. Having looked up a good number of recipes from books (ones that she could understand now), she could be found chopping up zucchini and squash for a sort of tart. She'd already made something called a zucchini and lime cake (cooling off, just required lime icing), and spiced zucchini bread (also just cooling off), and something she found out called 'squash hushpuppies (thankfully that had nothing to do with real puppies), and baked squash fries.
The tart recipe seemed the most involved, but she wanted something a little more substantial than bread.
Either way, the smell of baking from the kitchen is a prevalent one and people are more than welcomed to come in for a piece.
ooc: will be out most of the day, so tags will be slow.
