Summer thunderstorms bring rain and Demeter enters with her feet muddy and her hair and dress wet. They're one of the few things that her brother Zeus ever got right.
When she sees Milliways, she smiles as its been too long before leaving a trail of muddy footprints to the outside. The storm doesn't follow her but as she sits in the garden in the fading light, there are a few more clouds on the horizon.

The evening is warm and humid, perfect storm weather. Emcee would rather be inside, but he can't help watching where the woman goes. Instead of following her to the garden, though, he walks along the part of the porch that overlooks it.
He feels as if he's seen her before.
"Guten Abend, Fraulein," he greets her, his voice carrying a little dully on the thick, warm air, as he leans on his arms on the railing.
[ooc: Placeholder because brain melty. Will be back soon!]

She turns at his voice and beams at him, answering in an accent that's complicated, there's Greek and French mixed up in it.
His face is familiar and its nice to see him relaxed, "Good evening, its beautiful out here."

"Yes, it is, though it's a bit too hot for my taste. Still, warm weather has its advantages in that less clothing is becomes more practical."
He's only wearing a white sleeveless undershirt for a top.
"Or wet clothing, in your case."
[ooc: They've only met at his New Year's Eve party, but she was older, so it's just a familiar feeling.]

Demeter looks him over with an approving glance, he seems comfortable in his skin, her dress is linen and light with nothing underneath,
"Yes, for now this is lovely but soon I'll want some warmth and wine and bread. I love a proper storm when the world feels made anew."

"Ah, the oncoming storm," he says. "That will certainly lift the heat."
Getting caught in the rain in Berlin is not particularly a joyous thing. But this woman might change his mind about that here.
He keeps looking her over with a curious gaze as if trying to place her.
"I'm sorry," he half-chuckles, still smiling, "but have we met?"

Which is the highest praise that she gives for parties.

"...Demeter?" he says with a gasp, a bright smile parting his lips, and he laughs, just as brightly. "I am so honored to finally meet your summer self, dear lady."

"I would be delighted to."
So he hops down the porch stairs and makes his way through the garden, picking his way down a path lined with growing things that somehow smell much sweeter and green than he expected.

When he's close enough, she leans over and kisses him on the cheek, tucking a pink zinnia behind his ear.

"Oh, well, you know," he sighs with a fainter smile, tipping his head from side to side. "It's had its ups and downs as much as any start of a year could bear. I don't think anyone could truly say that anything goes exactly the way they want."

"I know I cannot do anything about it. But...thanks to Milliways, I now have a way to outrun it."
But he still doesn't sound too happy.

"But I don't want to run if I can't save my friends as well."

"We don't get rain like this where I live," she says. "In the Summerlands, sure, if that's your thing, but at home it's all fog."
Fog has it's uses. Good for snooping around, if you're Toby. Concealing secrets.
Thunderstorms are anything but secretive.

Perhaps if she's closer, she'll get a better sense of the land this woman knows.

"But I live in San Francisco."
A magical city, for quite different reasons.
"I'm May Day," she says, smiling. "Fae."

Like right now, May had been out and about in the city, so her features are still disguised, complete with smoothly curved ears and less angular cheekbones.
"But I've never met a goddess in my world."

Its strange and at times rather disorienting to her.

"Are there many of you, in your family?"
She pushes back a wet lock of hair, subtly removing her human disguise at the same time.
no subject
"Far too many. My brothers have never been good at staying with just one person."
