"Depends on whether I fuck it up horribly or not," YT says. "If I succeed in making an actual, functional sock, I'll be wearing it. Along with, like, a matching sock. In theory."

In practice, she needs to finish the socks first.

"If it's not a functional sock, you should definitely give it as a gift to someone you don't like."

"If it all goes horribly wrong, I know what you're getting for your next birthday. Or Christmas. Whichever comes first."

"Sure. A glow-in-the-dark neon pink one," YT deadpans.

Flatly: "Awesome. Neon pink brings out my eyes."

"If you say so," YT says. "How soon is your birthday, exactly?"

"Little under a month from now? In my world, at least. It'll probably be longer here."

"Oh, yeah.I forgot about the time weirding stuff." YT checks the increase she just knitted, decides it's okay, and knits on.

"I'll make sure to give you a heads up a few days before so you can start knitting that neon pink coat."

"Gee. Thanks," YT says.

"I live to be helpful," Yamato says, stretching. "Okay, you have fun with that sock then, I'll catch you around."

"Later, Yamato. Surfing safety," YT says. It's probably for the best. She needs to devote her attention to these heel increases.
