Jay wanders in from his door looking comfortingly rough - cut off shorts, no shirt, no shoes and a week's worth of stubble.

He grabs a shaving kit and a straight razor from the bar and vanishes into the bathroom, reemerging a few minutes later looking clean and content.

You can finally him sitting on the back step with a bottle of beer, cleaning and sharpening the razor.

"You're not a kid now," Autor says, nibbling on his lower lip. "But it's too late to join them now, right?"

"I'm technically a bad guy, according to my mentor's black and white morals. I can't see him welcoming me into the League with open arms. Besides, I don't play that well with others. Not the way they'd want."

"No, B can keep the League and Tim can rebuild the Titans in his own image. I'm happy running solo."

"Running solo isn't a bad thing," Autor says, tilting his head. "If anything, no one can tell you what to do. Do you think you'll be on your own forever, or will you take an apprentice or partner?"

A dark look crossed his face. "Not an apprentice, no. Not ever. I've seen what that does. But I enjoyed worked with Squire, even when everything ran against us." He shrugs. "Never say never."

Autor blinks at him. "I see," he says. "Maybe you and Squire will work together again sometime. Would you still be able to partner up with members of the Justice League, or are you too different?"

"Maybe but I need to drop out of her territory for a while. We kinda hit the news a bit hard with the mess we turned up. Some of the people we turned in from the arena were powerful and famous."

He shrugs. "I don't know that many members of the League would works with me but there are other masks, other people working on the outer edges."

"Oh, goodness," Autor says, scrunching up his nose. "Then it probably is best for you to lay low for a while. Maybe you can work with the other masks. People on the outer edges tend to work well with other people on the fringe. But being alone isn't all that bad, like I said before. Perhaps you don't need to work with anyone."

"Glad that makes sense." Jay nods. "How are you doing?"

Autor looks away. "I'm fine, Jay," he says, clutching his opposite arm. "I don't know what to tell you. I've been... angry lately. For no reason, really. And I can't really get rid of it."

Jay cocks his head and studies Autor. "I can teach you some meditation stuff I learned after I... well, after I was brought back to life. Don't know how much they'll help but it never hurts to try them."

"That might work," Autor says, inclining his head. "It's not like I've got anything else that will. Thanks, Jay."

Jay gives him a gentle shoulder bump. "Whatever I can do to help."
