Mutant viking AU

Gyda woke up that morning with both arms feeling sore, like the stretching she felt in her legs just last winter. No matter how much she tried to relax or warm her arms, the feeling didn't go away. Then that afternoon,  she was by the shore of their barn, getting the crab cages pulled for their catch. She kept stepping into the water, but each time she reached it was like the water kept 'pulling' itself away from her.

"Come on.." She urged on, stretching her hand out to for the cages. Suddenly not just the cagesm but an entire wave crashes up over her, making her cry out in alarm.

That was a half hour, before she once more found the door to Milliways.

Dried off and in a new dress, Gyda's by the late shore, just near the barn.  The ache in her arms is back, but now she knows why. Feeling like she was pulling at something, she holds out her arms and laughs as she 'pulls' up a wave from an otherwise calm lake, and throws it onto the shore.

"I did it!" She laughs and pulls up another wave, imagining herself as one of the daughters of the sea. At some point, she might explore what else her gift allows her to do, but for now she's just having a fun time breaking waves.

ooc: last day of the AU plot. After some consideration, Gyda's mutant power is the ability to waterbend manipulate water.

"That's pretty neat!" A little boy in a red feather cloak and worn clothes says with much enthusiasm. It might be worth noting he's floating in the air about six feet off the ground.

The wave drops before her and she looks up at the boy, her eyes wide. "How'd you fly without wings?"

There were a few who managed flight back home, but they were born with wings. This boy had no wings as far as she could see.
