Traditions about the celebration of birthdays vary from country to country and culture to culture. Very few of them are really designed with interdimensional bars at the end of time in mind.

Fortunately, there is one bar tradition that works well nearly anywhere.

"Señora Bar," says Santo, "please, one drink for everyone here today, on me. That should do for a birthday celebration, si?"



[OOC: The real El Santo was born on September 23rd, 1917. I am assuming that the movie character he played shares his birthday as well as his name, so- happy birthday, El Santo.]

"Pardon me, sir," says a little girl in a black frock dress with a high collar of white lace, who is holding a steaming mug of Mexican hot cocoa. "If I am understanding the rat who brought me this correctly, I should thank you for this. I do appreciate it, but I do not drink."

"Oh?" Santo turns to consider the little girl. "So far as I know there is nothing harmful in it, senorita, but if you don't want it, then that's all right. You can give it back to Senora Bar and she will see it does not go to waste."

"Oh, I am sure it is delicious. It does smell wonderful. It's just that I am not capable of eating or drinking. I am an AutoReiv, an android." She takes a deep sniff of the spiced cocoa before raising herself onto her tip toes to place the mug on top of the bar.

She lowering herself when she sees the mug disappear. Eyes going wide, she turns to the big man to confirm he saw that as well. "Did it just disappear?!?"

Santo nods. "Senora Bar has somewhere that she can retrieve food from. I assume she sends the extra food there, too. I am told she does it by magic, and I have never seen a scientist designing anything to help her do it, so it may be true."

"How delightful! Is she alive?" He speaks as if she were.

"I think perhaps she is," says Santo. "At least, she hears what people say, and she can answer it, and she has her own opinions of things. And she has to sleep sometimes, too. A little bit every day."

"Just like a person," Pino agrees and turns to face Bar. "And I shall treat her as such as well. I am sorry for talking about you as if you weren't there. I am Pino."

A napkin appears on the Bar surface, and written on it in orange crayon is, That's all right, Pino, I don't mind. Thank you! -- Bar

"She communicates with most of us that way, if she chooses to communicate at all," Santo says.
