[01 OOM: The musical episode nobody required or wanted.]
Now that they're away from Etemon (for the moment, at least), it's time to resupply at the nearest village, and Yamato drew the short straw, which is why the door opens on the sound of a bustling marketplace, and Yamato (the eleven year old version, on this particular day) wanders in with a notepad, with Gabumon following behind him.
Most of the group wants food. The Koromon need materials to build a new village. Jyou wants medical supplies, and Mimi wants a truly dizzying array of name-brand beauty products, none of which Yamato expects to find at the market. Koushiro very politely asked for maps of the area.
Yamato glances up at the bar as he enters, brow furrowing slightly, before flicking through the notepad again.

That's actually written down. In large, angry letters.
"Nobody's going to be selling those, either."

"The group needs food," Gabumon adds. "And a village of Koromon need building supplies."
"And Jyou wants medical supplies, Mimi wants beauty products, Koushiro wants decent topographical maps," Yamato says, flipping a few pages. "They're all going to be pretty disappointed."

That's a lot of stuff for a group of kids.

Sora seems to have a sixth sense for when Yamato's lying.
"Especially if I came back with antibiotics or something. I'm not sure anywhere in the Digital World would have those."

Gabumon pauses, then bounces slightly. "Oh! Oh, you should come and help us!" He says, grabbing Quentin's arm with one paw. "I bet you know loads about trading."

Young Yamato may be a little confused by the young woman in orange and blue addressing his companion. Then again, maybe this kind of thing has happened to him before.
YT turns to the human member of the pair. "Hey. Are you, um, Yamato's little brother or something?"
Hahahaha. It's not that YT doesn't like kids, okay? She's just uncomfortable around them, and only in a certain age range. When they're babies, they may be a lot of work but they're a no-brainer to deal with. Toddlers are kind of like puppies, which YT can totally grok.
But once they hit four or five or so kids get really unpredictable. They veer between not understanding basic concepts on the one hand and understanding a lot more than you want them to on the other hand. Or they fall in the most inconvenient possible spot in the middle. Once they hit thirteen or so YT can deal with them, even if they're total brats.

That said, the mention of his brother puts him somewhat into defensive-older-brother mode.
"Who's asking?" He asks, voice low, tipping his chin up a little.
Gabumon draws up alongside him, peering up at YT.

"Name's YT," she says. "I know Yamato." She turns to Gabumon. "C'mon, dude, back me up here."
no subject
Well, not quite this, but.
"The Yamato you know is -- larger, right?" Gabumon ventures, since he doesn't really have a concept of 'older.'

Yamato remains stony-faced throughout. "Timelines being weird. Don't worry about it. I'm Yamato."
no subject
"Seriously? Am I being swerved or something?"
