Veteran's day happy hour
Sonya knew what day it was. If she was back home, there would've been time set aside for small celebrations; appreciation to those that served with her, to the families of those that no longer served with her. Now, all she had were memories.
She spent the day in the stables, cleaning, riding and letting Dixie get some exercise while getting used to being around other animals. Her dinomount was getting taller and stronger, she needed to keep him used to the smell of other 'prey animals' so he wouldn't get over come with the urge to attack them. She needed the fresh air, the freedom riding allowed her.
She was in need of a shower when she entered Bar, but all thoughts stopped when she saw the Door to her office. She didn't have to go to it to know what it was, she'd seen it so often in her sleep, wished to see it every day..was it only due to the day.
A note appeared on the table, breaking her from her thoughts. She read it, her eyes still on the door. "Alright, give me half an hour, then you can sleep."
Thirty minutes later, she's behind the bar, her mind still on her Door as she wrote down the specials. She wasn't in the mood for anything fancy

With that, she got to writing down a list. Her door was now here, but the date also meant something else. some that suddenly felt more important than a chance to return to her realm.
