Cripes. He spends a little time away from the bar and it gets overrun by elves. He can't leave this place alone for five nanos.

They go away if you're nice, eh? Fair enough. He thought they didn't smell evil.

Enzo is always happy to be helpful, of course, but until there is something to be helpful about, maybe spreading general good vibes will help?

Green youth at a table, playing a guitar (but not too loudly), with a small, hovering window next to him saying REQUESTS TAKEN (IF I KNOW THEM).

"Be extra cute," he murmurs to Minus. Goodness knows if the nautilus understands this, but it turns a somersault.

Enzo grins at them and throws in an extra flourish. (By some means, he has discovered Jeff Willams' Caffeine.)

Well that seems to go down well. Gil is doing something which looks like hyperactive ballet now.

Helping burn off small children's energy is Nice, right?

Minus joins in the dance, after a fashion, zipping about and loop-de-looping.

Most definitely.

Gil toddles towards Minus, reaching out to touch him.

"Bean?"

Minus, noticing, moves just within reach and extends a tentacle.

Enzo laughs. Bean?

"Bean...spwowt!" Gil pokes the tentacle.

Enzo laughs harder as Minus wiggles his other tentacles. "He does look a little like a sprouting bean, doesn't he?"

Gil jumps up and down pointing at Minus, then goes to get Daddy to look at the thing.

"Wiggy bean!"

"Yes, that's Minus." Guppy says.

"He's a nautilus," Enzo informs Gil, pronouncing the word slowly.

Gil listens carefully.

"Noddus." he tries.

"He's still getting there with speech." Guppy says. "He's got a friend at nursery school called 'Esme-Rose' and he calls her..."

"Elmo!" Gil looks around.

Enzo chuckles. "No, sorry, we're just talking about her, she's not here."

Gil toddles round the room looking for his friend for a moment, before coming back to poke Minus again.

"Bean!"

"Yeah, Esme-Rose's mum isn't too pleased about the fact that Gil taught the whole class to call her Elmo." Guppy says. "But he didn't mean to, he's the littlest one there."

Minus, who is fine with being poked as long as the small human doesn't get too grabby, pokes back.

"Well, as long as she's okay with it. Is she okay with it?"

"Far as I can tell. She can't say her own name either. They're always hanging out together."

"Seems fine to me, then, as long as she doesn't mind and the other kids aren't being mean about it."

"Yeah, it's only her mother making a fuss." Guppy says. "Don't like the mother much to be honest. We know her from dance as well."

Enzo shrugs. "When I was an alpha version, I called Dot Dada, and her name isn't even complicated."

"Aw, that's adorable."

Enzo smirks and rolls his eyes a little. "I'm just saying, if it wasn't 'Elmo' it'd be something else."

"Yeah, besides, she calls him 'Gill' half the time."

"There, you see? Totally fair."

"That's what I thought." Guppy grins. "As scandels in my household go it's very low down the list."
