The Door opens. A reddish half-grown standard poodle puppy dashes through, followed by a length of leash, followed by YT. The puppy is totally psyched to SNIFF ALL THE THINGS, and YT has to make a determined effort to avoid being dragged around on the end of the leash.

"Stella! Stella, heel," YT instructs.

The puppy - Stella - complies, albeit with a big dose of guilt-inducing Sad Puppy Eyes. YT gives it a couple of seconds, then starts walking around the perimeter of the room, gently tugging the leash to indicate that Stella should come with her. It's only fair to let Stella sniff things, but she has to behave herself and do it on YT's terms. Which means no, Stella, you can't chew on the elf dolls.

YT herself is dressed festively in - from the feet up - ankle-high faux-fur-lined boots, jeans, and an ugly Christmas sweater with an unbuttoned red trench coat over it. The coat has lots of pockets, just the way YT likes it, but most of them are hidden. YT's also wearing a backpack with various Christmas gifts for her Milliways pods.

"Technically, techno-organic miniature cyber raptor...." He had to emphasize the miniature because well... YT should be warned. "This is as big as he gets..I got him for a Christmas present a few years ago when he was juuust this big."

Tyler removes one hand from scritching Stella to make a cup to indicate something about the size of a small kitten. "He nipped way worse than she ever could."

YT watches the cyber-raptor gnaw a detached elf doll head. "Yeah, those teeth look pretty sharp. Um, he doesn't randomly bite people now, does he?"

She's not going to ask if she can pet him. She's going to keep her fingers well the fuck away from that thing.

"I've trained him not to bite people, unless they are obviously trying to attack, then all bets are off." Also, to attack only on command, but YT doesn't need to hear about how this thing neutered a giant bear.

To prove it, Tyler's just going to scratch at Winston's chest, just a little.

Because watching the ball of angry teeth start wriggling and grunting happily is kind of awesome.

Yeah, YT's still not gonna try and pet Winston. He's kind of like a Rat Thing, and she touched one of those that one time, but Rat Things are like dogs, or they're part dogs, and Winston is decidedly not.

"Well, okay. Just as long as he's not gonna maul Stella or bite my foot off or something." Pause. "Are those, like, regular pets wherever you come from?"

"Pffft." Tyler shakes his head, clearly laughing a little. He looks just a touch too normal to fit in here, and Winston looks weird enough to be a local. "No, another patron from a different world did. He had bred a small swarm of these as pest control on his ranch...and as another part of that Christmas present, he took me riding on a full size one."

"Okay. That actually sounds kind of cool." Because if there's anything YT can relate to, it's the desire to ride bizarre, dangerous things. "What's this guy raise on his ranch, though?"

Specifically, why does he need cybernetic raptors to herd whatever it is?

...Some where here, there has been something lost in communication.

"Uh..I just told you...he raises bigger versions of Winston. For riding." Think...predatory horse farm. "He used to be on a couple of superhero teams and I never really found out why he'd started raising them to be honest."
