 Dr. Hannibal Lecter is at the bar, tasting coffee and suchlike.

Coffee-like concoctions from all over the multiverse, that is. Klatchian coffee, caf from the 'Star Wars' universe, and the famed kopi luwak may be among them, if you care to have a look.

Sinric comes in from outside, shaking a dusting of snow from his furs. He spots Hannibal and comes over to join him. "You seem to be having rather an interesting evening?"

"Yes, I'm drinking coffee," Hannibal says. "I was reminded how many kinds of it there are."

He puts an arm around Sinric to pull him close and kiss him.

Sinric leans into the kiss, smiling warmly and happy in himself. "Which one are you enjoying the most?"

"Depends on the context," Hannibal says. "And what you want it for. This stuff, for example, might be strong enough to work as an antidote to Atlantean. But I'd better not try that out, right here in public."

"Each tool to its time and place." Sinric nods, taking up up the cup and breathing in the scent. "Oh my! That smells powerful!"

"It's said to rink you right out of the other side of sober," Hannibal says, nodding.

"I don't think I like the sound of that." Sinric chuckles, lithe and relaxed as he leans into Hannibal's side. "I'm not sure the other side of sober is a good place to be."

"It must be a sort of mania," Hannibal muses. "Constant activity at high speed, possibly hyper-focusing. No, not a good place to be."

"Oh no! No, I don't think I'd like that at all!" Sinric laughs and sets the mug down.

"Are there others less dangerous?"

When the front door opens, a young girl comes in from what looks like a busy school hallway. Her 'can-this-day-get-any-longer?' look brightens quickly into a smile as she sees where she is. Rae quickly closes the door and shucks her heavy backpack, leaving it beside the door where she'll remember to pick it back up when she leaves, and bounds over towards the bar.

"Morning, Dr. Lecter!" she greets him, the day looking a great deal brighter on this side of the multiverse.

"Hello, Rae!" Dr. Lecter says, brightly. "Would you like some cocoa?"

"Ooh, yes, please," Rae replies, liking this idea very much.

"Are all of these... coffee?" she asks, nodding to fragrant variety before him.

[cook_the_rude]

"Coffee, and multiversal variations thereof," Dr. Lecter says, ordering the hot chocolate for her.

"A newcomer asked for something called caf, and that reminded me that I hadn't ever done a comprehensive test."

"Thank you," she says to both the bar and Dr. Lecter, smiling and taking the cup of hot chocolate.

"A comprehensive test?" Rae echoes, trying to imagine what that would entail. "Are you going to try them all? There must be so many different kinds."

"At least all these," Dr. Lecter says. "Some of the most common variations."

"Which are these?" she asks, with a slight grin. "I don't know any variations on coffee apart from black, with cream, or with cream and sugar."

They all look like coffee to her.

"This is Klatchian coffee, from the Discworld, for example," Dr. Lecter says. "It is so strong, it brings you out on the other side of sobriety."

Ganymede was going to detour to the bar to get coffee when he came in--surprise visit as it was, hence him holding the unfastened front of his trousers just below his navel--but seeing Hannibal instead, that seemed like a better alternative.

He leans in, shirtless against Hannibal's back with lips brushing the shell of his ear, greeting him in soft Greek. "Hello, doctor." Someone is is a very playful mood today.

"Ganymede," Hannibal says, smiling. "Coffee?"

"Hannibal," Ganymede replies cheerfully, stepping back after a playful kiss to his cheek. "Happily. What kinds are you offering?"

Ganymede evidently sees zero problem with accepting coffee from the man, even in the middle of what he was doing with another.

"All the most popular kinds," Hannibal says, tapping his finger on Ganymede's chest. "For you, I think -- caffé coretto."

"Corrected?" Ganymede parses, amused as he slides onto a chair next to Hannibal, unminding of much personal space. "Now why would I need to be corrected?"

He's happy, not giddy but genuinely glad: such things generally happen after a laughing photography session where he's getting progressively more undressed and progressively less inhibited. His partner is good at that.

"The aggressive coffee-ness of it," Hannibal says, "is corrected and softened with a generous shot of grappa, and sugar to taste."

"I would challenge your assumption that I am likewise," Ganymede says with a little teasing smile, "Soft."

"Perhaps the heat of your coffee might be made sweeter by tempering with grappa and sugar?" Hannibal suggests.
