The door opens briefly, and then closes again.

About five minutes later when Wilford walks into the bar today, it’s with two things: a new haircut, and garden hose that’s been kinked to keep it from just spraying water everywhere. That’s not stopping it from dripping everywhere, but still. It could be worse.

He takes the dripping hose straight up to Jim, holding onto it like he could unleash the full fury of the Los Santos municipal water supply right into his face. He won’t, but he could.

Jim looks up at him, slowly but amused. “And what do you want me to do about this?” he asks.

Wilford waits a few moments to respond, letting water form a puddle by his feet.

"You better find something to put it in."

'...not that first time someone's said that to me.'

He rolls his lips together and releases them with a smacking sound, then closes his book and deigns to look at the hosepipe.

'I could shove it down your throat?'

"You could fucking try."

If the kink in the hose gets loosened slightly, it's entirely by accident.

"You said you wanted water. Take it or leave it."

He eyes the increased drip, and sighs. Does Wilford ever not make a mess? He murmurs something to Bar, and a large jerrycan appears.

'What's the other end of this hooked up to?'


'...and what on earth have you done to your head?'

"To a faucet. What else?"

He knows it's the obvious answer, but he doesn't care. He digs his heel into the hose to cut off the flow as he hands it over to Jim. He wants the water. He can do the dirty work.

"You're always bitching about the way I look. I thought I'd change it up."

'To something worse?'

Jesus. No. Mohawks are just...no. And pink ones are even worse. He's almost glad of the hose to distract him from the glare of it.

'Don't stand next to me, I don't want to be associated with you.'

The hose gets applied to the can. Though if it's possible to get more than one, he might as well.It's for Science, after all.

It's not a mohawk; it's an undercut. Jeez, Jim.

Wilford takes his foot off the hose so Jim can fill up the jerry can. He wonders how much water Jim will actually take.

"What do you mean, worse? I look fantastic."

'You look like an idiot.'

Like he's up to date with whatever the little rubber people call their hairstyles these days. He gets another can from the bar, because if Wilford's being generous he'll take all he's allowed.

"There's just no pleasing you."

Wilford gets a towel from the bar to try to clean up some of the water that's spilled onto his jeans. It's probably a pre-mature move, but he doesn't want to stand around damp.

It was not Tess' intention to to in a puddle of water today.

"What the hell are you two doing? If my shoes get ruined, you're buying me a new pair."

Wilford jabs his thumb at Jim while trying not to spray his own jeans.

"Ask him. It was his idea."

'I didn't tell you to run a pipe into a public bar, you moron.'

He grins at Tess, though. This is hardly the worst thing she's seen him do.

'Hello, darling. Have you two met before?'

"You're holding the hose."

It seems she needs to point this out to Wilford.

Then she turns to Jim, shaking her head at the entire idiocy of what's happening in front of her.

"He's met my hand, at least."

Wilford shrugs. It was still Jim's idea.

"I'd appreciate it if you kept your hands to yourself this time."

Keeping his jeans dry is wishful thinking at this point.

'Ohhhh, that's right. You defended my honour when it was impugned.'

She is adorable. And he shakes his head at Wilford, because he clearly doesn't know a good thing when its offered.

'Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.'

She did! She may or may not do it again.

"Just... keep your distance."

And not just because he's in control of the water.

"We already established that I did try it," Wilford says.

He doesn't know what Tess has against him at this point. Instead of focusing on keeping his distance, he tries to make sure his own shoes stay at least somewhat dry.

"Why don't you just put a clamp on it?" Fry asks, from further down the bar, where he is sitting learning a script.

Wilford's caught off guard by the sudden suggestion.

"It doesn't need to be off long enough to mess with that crap."

It's not even really off now. It's just making a very gradual mess.

At the exact same moment, Jim answers, 'because he's an idiot who can't plan ahead.'

Which he thinks should be obvious.

Fry stares at both of them.

"Why did you bring it in here?" he asks.

"His idea," Wilford says, pointing at Jim.

'No. I asked you to bring the bottle of water I left in your car. This is a fucking running hosepipe, which is not the same thing.'

Not that he's actually complaining, because more is better!

Such language in front of impressionable children.

Fry gets a sign from Bar, alters it slightly with a pen, moves over, and places it next to them, on the puddle.

Wilford shakes his head.

"I used that water. The dog puked in the car."

So Jim gets this.
