Jay moves like Bruce. He'd never admit it but it's there as he sets drip trays under the bikes, examining the damage and neglect of them.

"Doesn't hurt to know as much as possible but yeah. I like the feeling of British bikes. They remind me of him."

"Well obviously, keep learning." Alfred would never advise against learning more.

Which, regarding Jay, leads to Alfred asking, "Have you not kept in contact with him?"

Jay keeps his face turned away from Alfred, finding an excuse to examining a part. "I saw him briefly, Christmas before last. I don't... have a very good relationship with the family anymore."

Ah, family. Well, if the lad doesn't want to talk about it, Alfred won't press. Not now, not yet. But it was 'the family', not 'my family', a turn of phrase Alfred notes as interesting.

Alfred turns to examine the Norton and see what can be done for it.
