Deadpool is sitting on a comfortable couch by the fireplace. He's surrounded by a pile of sharp objects. A couple swords, a combat knife, several pouches full of throwing knives, a few shuriken...you get the idea.

He's industriously cleaning, sharpening, and polishing all of them. It's a lot more focused energy than you usually see from Deadpool.





Oh wait, he's humming In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida under his breath, and occasionally doing an air guitar solo. He's probably fine.

"I am not Rivaini."

This, apparently, makes sense.

"But yes. I fight with the sword, and the shield."

"Old school, I can dig it. I double fist mine."






"That was a dirty joke, if you were wondering."

"Ugh. You -- you Canadian."

That is where he'd said he was from, as she recalls.

"You remembered!" he says, delighted. He picks up both of his katanas and displays them with a showy flourish.

"I can't do three at once like that anime pirate guy, but I do pretty well for myself."

She scowls suspiciously at him.

"What is an anime pirate? And why would it --or you -- need three swords at once? You only have two hands."

Cassandra is fairly certain she's being made the butt of a joke.

"Dude, I have no idea, ask the Japanese. I already have so many questions for them, one more can't hurt. Like, what's with the tentacle obsession? Why do I always mess up 'wa' and 'ga' when trying to compose linguistically accurate sentences? Who came up with that story about the chick that turned into a guy's hand?"

Deadpool shrugs.

"I think he held the third one in his teeth. Because he's a pirate? I dunno, these are questions for the ages."

He spins the swords and then sheathes them neatly.

Whatever world this man is from must be as strange as he is.

"If that is so, it is just as well you do not try. Considering your ... mask, I mean."

Grudgingly, she adds,

"Although it does seem that you have some skill with the blade."

That sort of maneuver takes practice, as well she knows.

"Wooo, yeah, that's asking for an accident to happen. A nice Glasgow smile wouldn't hurt my looks too much, but the mess!" Deadpool tsks.

"And yeah! I have all kinds of mad sword skills! And gun skills, and kicking people in the head skills. I'm skilled, is what I'm saying."

She gives him a look that is openly skeptical, although less so than it would have been had he not just demonstrated at least some level of ability.
