It's a quiet day in Central City. No dead bodies have dropped to call Barry into his day job, and a quick zip around the city yields only a mugger and one jaywalker who would've been pancaked by a garbage truck if 'The Streak' hadn't been there to rush him to the safety of the sidewalk.
(Seriously, he needs a better superhero name.)
With things so chill at home Barry is glad when he finds Milliways in his apartment. He was looking for something to eat, but the fridge and cupboards in his place are bare.
Obviously it's time for him to join Costco or something, but in the meantime...
"Hey, Bar," he greets the counter, sliding onto a stool wearing blue jeans and a sweatshirt. "Can I get a-- "
A platter appears with deli meats and cheeses all cut down to fit on the accompanying Ritz crackers. It's the type of tray usually made to feed small armies of party guests.
"--snack."
Barry grins and while he starts assembling cracker sandwiches, Bar produces a chocolate milkshake; which earns a wary glance from Barry, but he soon discovers this one isn't a protein ruse.
[ooc: Here all day, and this will be open through the weekend.]

"Me? Ah, not-- not really, no. Sometimes, y'know, on occasion I'll uh... run. If you could call it-- " In addition to fumbling his words Barry also bobbles his glass, nearly knocking it off the counter and just managing to save it from tipping over on the snack platter.
Righting the glass he snaps his hands away from it, composes himself and very casually says, "Y'know, I'm more like a jogger, really."
Very smooth is Barry.
"Usually it's distance runners who do the ice bath thing. Marathon runners training to go twenty-six miles in a few hours."
Something Barry would never do (it would take him minutes).

But first, to answer Chirrut.
"That tea is kriffing terrible, and you know it," Baze says, scoffing. "You're not going to get me to budge on this."
He's just glad he doesn't have to drink it anymore. He turns to Barry. "Tell us about this friend of yours--Caitlin?"

That was an interesting reaction. It's not an outright lie... but...
But.
If Barry wants to avoid the topic of his running, so be it. He hardly knows Barry, he doesn't have a driving need to ferret out this truth.
"The tea was fine, and watch out, Barry. This one's secretly a horrible sap."

Running his thumb along his eyebrow in a nervous movement to settle himself out he cracks a smile at the two's exchange.
"Well, at least you can get whatever kind you each want now," he says, not about to take sides on the tea issue.
Smiling about Caitlin, he's much less awkward talking about her than when Iris was brought up earlier.
"She's a doctor. She's my doctor, actually. She's been acting as my personal physician for a little while, making sure that I'm doing okay, but she's also a neurosurgeon and bio-engineer."

"And you call me the rude one." He snorts, moved to laughter rather than further rebuke. "I'm never letting you forget this."

"No, not rich. I uh-- I was struck by lightning about nine months ago." Which is weird and awkward to say, but no secret. "It put me in a coma and I woke up just a few weeks ago."
He gives a shrug, because it's crazy and he knows it.
"Caitlin and the people she works with at S.T.A.R. Labs saved my life, and they've been helping me in my recovery." Which is all true, minus specific details.

This is a lie.
Chirrut would have lost his mind entirely.

He rubs his hands together, thinking about things he missed and what it must have been like for those who were left waiting for him.
"My family was pretty freaked. They don't say it a whole lot, they mostly just tell me they're glad to have me back, but I'm sure it was terrible for them."
Especially given how many times they lost him before he was finally truly stabilized.
"Joe and Iris were there a lot, though, and Iris promised that they kept my dad in the loop. And now thanks to S.T.A.R. Labs I'm totally fine so... yeah."

"But I'm good now, back to work and everything. Caitlin's even eased up on her doctor-mode some. When I first woke up she was quick to jump on me when she thought I was overdoing it." Or doing things she thought were crazy and reckless like running into burning buildings...
He finishes off his tea and gives an expressive shrug.
"Anyways, I don't recommend it to either of you, it kinda sucks," he cracks with a smile.

(OOC: Thanks so much for the thread! Barry is lovely.)

"Thanks, you guys, too. It was great meeting you both," he replies with a nod and smile.
[ooc: Thanks to both of you! <333!!!]
