Working hard
Well. That was a pleasant day's work. Trivial, of course. But informative--and profitable in its way. Loki had liked what the Earth money translated to in Asgardian terms when he gave it to the Bar to deal with. Liked that it was a tidy sum, and also liked that it was still pitiable compared to the wealth of Asgard's court. It's nice to have your superiority confirmed.
He'd made significant contributions to the Bar's charities--support for children, for dead people, for everyone, blah blah blah, look at him being a pillar of the community--and then requested the delivery of an Employees' Appreciation Luncheon Feast to the Security Office. Just because. They've surely been working hard.
He orders a Loki Appreciation Lunch for himself, and settles into a comfortable booth. (Should he order a Guardsman of the Year plaque with a copy of Thor's official court portrait, and hang it in the office to go with the lunch? Or would that be too much?)

Only one way to find out, probably. Jim drops into the booth opposite.
'Hello.'
He's the epitome of casual today. Shorts, T-shirt, Converse hi-tops. Expensive shades, and the entirety of the left side of his face is a bruise.

It's a good look on Loki, that outfit. Though how he ever expected Davy to believe he'd come to talk maths while wearing it, Jim will never know. He looks like he's permanently on the pull.
'You, on the other hand-'
Tsk indeed, Loki. He'd make a comment about corrupting innocent youth, except yeah, no.

"Just an afternoon frolic on Midgard, for old times' sake. Hardly being busy. What did you do with the books?"

'I don't know yet. I won't know until he does something with them.'
The way this dual timeline works is fascinating to him, even if many aspects shouldn't make sense. But then, he thinks if those bits made sense others wouldn't, so it mostly works out.
'If he's got any sense, he'll use them for the sake of his reputation and then allow them to be found. Somewhere amusing.'

She sets them down in front of Loki, head tilting as she studies him for a long, silent moment.
"You should take these."
Beat.
"And eat them. Later."

Obviously, Loki.
"And it will help you stay coherent. More often. Here."
Blood sugar is like gold. (It might not be for Asgardians, but X remains concerned.)

When she isn't typing away at the sleek little convertible tablet upon her table, she is idly watching the room. Eventually, inevitably, her wide, expressive eyes find Loki in his booth, causing her to smile slightly as she sips her espresso.
There's someone who knows how to have a good time - and has, too, by the look of things.
(ooc: Mun will be in and out all day with work, but I couldn't help it! I've wanted to throw all of mine at Loki but haven't gotten the chance until now! <333)

When she catches his eye, he nods back with a comfortable smile. "Hard at work even in the drinking hall?" She's got her little computer thing. Type type type.

The woman smiles at him. "If you enjoy what you do, is it ever work?"

At least, not important on the surface.
The woman turns the screen so he might see it better. On it is what seems to be a collection of chatty little news items, some mere points of interest, about people in the bar and aspects of the bar itself. 'Monsters in Milliways? Local Mechanic Concerned.' 'Dr. Hannibal Lecter Seeks Unorthodox Ingredients from Milliways.' 'Bittersweet Season Finale Leaves Fans Reeling - What's Next for Tentacles of Our Waves?' 'Trading Faces: Mystery Illness Strikes Bar Patrons.' 'Trauma Counselor Seeks Potential Patients.' 'WWI Veteran Seeks Trauma Counseling.'
"I'm idly considering whether the bar might benefit," read: whether she would enjoy the fall-out "from having a little local newsletter published from time to time."

He doesn't look like someone who's overly charitable.
"Is that a regular thing for you?"

What a convincing voice.

"You don't look like you belong."
By the way. Just an observation.

"It's your whole vibe. Aura. Whatever."
She asks a waitrat for a scotch.
"The clothes are nice."

Guide, still young, is nearby and senses Loki's life force. All of the differing creatures in this place were interesting. He has a small cold glass of water. The amount of food that the creature has is also curious to the young Wraith- young being around 50 years or so.
Yes, he's staring.
