Alana Bloom takes a long time to screw up her courage. She tells herself that she's only leaving a note--just an inquiry, really--and eventually gathers her wits and figures out what she wants to say.

To whom it may concern,

My name is Alana Bloom, and I have frequently suffered harassment at the hands of one Dr. Hannibal Lecter. He is from my world and often tortures me about events from there that occur in his timeline--specifically my future. Does this count as outside business?

I appreciate any advice you care to impart on this matter. Thank you for your kind attention and quick response.

Dr. Alana Bloom

After she drops the note off at the bar, Alana takes a seat there. Bar offers her a latte, and she sips at it gratefully while waiting for someone from Security to respond, her knee jiggling.

"I wouldn't have a problem calling it that, personally. I'd also say that harassment breaks the no-violence rule - it's not like anyone ever said that it had to be the kind of violence that leaves a mark."

Molly sips her coffee thoughtfully.

"The only problem I can see is whether or not I need to catch him at it. All the arrests I've ever made have been for rule breaking that I've seen happen."

The tension gathered in Alana's shoulders easez a fraction. "That's good," she says eventually. "I wish you could speak to him, but I doubt a warning will deter him. Next time he harasses me, should I call for Security?"

"It's certainly not bothered him so far," she says dryly. "I've been itching for an excuse to put him through a wall."

She's already got a little sign to hang on him.

"The only thing I would say is that it might make him cause more trouble when he gets out. I can do my damnedest to scare him off, but we can't lock him up forever."

"No, you can't," Alana says, sighing. She rubs at her temples. "So what should we do? I don't want to be harassed anymore, but it's not like I can just pick up a restraining order. Not that that would stop him, either."

Molly pinches the bridge of her nose.

"Can we get you an alarm or something? I don't know that getting hurt scares him very much, but maybe if he realises he'll get celled every time he does something, he'll realise it's not worth the public embarrassment."

Alana laughs, but it's a bitter sound, with no humor in it. "Sure. An alarm might just be humiliating enough. And if all else fails, I can annoy him with the sound. Thank you for addressing this so promptly, Molly."

"I was thinking more like the little T-Minus devices people use to chat in the bar, actually."

Molly swipes glittery cream from her nose with her thumb.

"They're sorta like those Nineties things - um, beepers? Buzzers? Those things. There's always someone from Security in the the bar, so we'll try treating him like a naughty puppy - instant punishment, every time, until he learns."

"Works for me," Alana says, nodding thoughtfully. "I haven't ever used a T-Minus, but I'm sure I could get used to one. Is there a way to send a message to all Security members who use one?"

She drums her fingers along the side of her mug, considering.

"I don't see why not," she says. "It'd make sense if we had a general Security channel, honestly. There's always at least one of us around, but it doesn't necessarily mean we're visible - and it makes it much more difficult for someone like Mr Lecter to get someone on their own."

She's been calling him 'Mr' for a while. It seems to irk him not to get given his title.

Alana raises a brow at the appellation, her smile a shade amused. "A general Security channel sounds like a good idea. Does everyone in Security use the T-Minus devices?"

Molly will take any possible opportunity to take the piss out of the man, not least because she has an idea that it has extra sting when it comes from a skinny young woman with a Valley Girl accent. Sometimes, being functionally invulnerable really does have its benefits.

"We haven't yet. But I'm beginning to think it'd be a very good idea if we started."

"Well, I appreciate your willingness to try a new technology for the bar patrons' sake," Alana says, finally giving Molly a true, warm smile. "I will pick one up as soon as we're done here. But I can't think of anything else I need to address Secuirty about. You've been most helpful."

"We do our best."

Molly offers Alana a scrappy salute.

"I'm gonna leave a note for the rest of the team - I don't run Security, so I can't swear to you that we're gonna start using the devices, but I'm definitely gonna suggest it as strongly as I can. I'll let you know as and when it's up and running. In the meantime, if he bothers you, don't hesitate to holler. We're already not his biggest fans."

"Thank you, Molly," Alana says, beaming at her. "I'll certainly do that. I hope we haven't kept Kitten waiting too long; I wanted to get this conversation wrapped up before she became bored. I'm so glad you're willing to help me!"

"That's what we're here for - and I can't speak for the others, but as personal job satisfaction goes, celling Lecter is easily a ten outta ten."

She grins. "Don't worry about Kitt - she's new here. I haven't gotten bored in sixteen years, so she's not even gonna break the surface tonight."

Alana chuckles. "I like the way you think, Molly Hayes. I'll be glad to call upon you. Thanks again."

"You got it."
