The circle of chairs is out in the main bar. In the middle are a selection of fruit pies, with a choice of ice cream, or cream, or custard, or none of the above.

Behind the pies are a large sign.

"Huh, sugar can be hard to find. Sweets usually are, but interesting to know it exists. I hope it help you feel safer."

"You can always stock up on sugar here," Alana says, sobering. "But thank you. I already feel safer, knowing Security has my back. And thank you for the suggestion. I should have gone to them a lot sooner."

"Fear and despair have a weight to them and makes it hard to imagine not having them on you. That makes it harder to do something,"

Its something he's constantly fighting against and looking to find ways to give people hope.

"That's very true," Alana says, inclining her head. "So, now that I've dominated the conversation with news about me, and about the T-Minus, how are you? Still in a port city?"

"Its how the Empire works. No, I'm traveling, stuck in an tiny place with no decent food,"

Soon he'll be at the rendezvous, he's missed Kay and flying.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Alana says, not without sympathy. "At least you have this place to rest and recover. Is Kay with you?"

"No, he's meeting me in our ship at another port. I had to meet with some people and they wouldn't know what to make of him,"

He couldn't take Kay on this job, which left him feeling vulnerable but that's how it goes.

"Why is that?" Alana says, tilting her head. "He's just a droid, right?"

"He can be intimidating," And he's recognizable as an Imperial droid.

Alana blinks. "Is he large? I don't have an idea of how big he is."

"Yes, very tall. I think you saw him that night I was cooking, he leaned through the door."

"Ah, yes, I remember," Alana says, smiling again. "Even leaning through the doorway, he was tall. Do you think he'll ever come here?"

"I don't know," There are a lot of variables he can't control and he doesn't want anyone to shoot Kay.

Alana furrows her brow. "You make it sound like him coming might be a bad thing. Why is that?"

"He says what he thinks and doesn't listen to a lot of people. It wouldn't take much for him to get in trouble here."

"Hmm," Alana says, nodding thoughtfully. "I can understand that. But there are a lot of people like that here, and they don't appear to get into that much trouble."

Cassian eats before answering because not all of those people are seven foot tall former Imperial droids, "He gets in trouble at home."

"And you rescue him from that, right?" Alana says, shaking her head. "Hopefully?"

He smiles, its small and fond, "Oh yes, we're good at rescuing each other. He always listens to me, doesn't always follow my orders but listens."

Alana smiles back. "Good," she says, and takes a small bite of her apple pie. "I'm glad you have such a good friend in Kay. I do hope I get to meet him, despite the reservations. I assume you always listen to him in return?"

"When I can, yes, just sometimes there's no choice but to do what you have to even if the odds are against you."

"Right, because he tells you the odds of success--or, rather, of failure," Alana says, nodding again. "I remember. Did you leave him in charge of the ship when you were in the port city?"

"Yes, I wouldn't trust anyone else with it,"

Also its good to leave Kay something to do or else things can get tricky.

"I'm glad you have someone you can trust," Alana says, cutting into her apple pie with the side of her fork. "How long were you in the port city?"

"Long as I needed to be, but I'm glad to be out of it. Nice place but its hard to hear those ships going overheard and not be in them,"

Also being Willix was tiring and he starts trying the different custards with the pie.
