.....well, oops.

This is totally not where Loki is supposed to be right now, because he is Literally Supposed to be Saving the World (!), but whatever, they'll get along fine without him for a little while, because look it's a magic multiversal bar.

Is he going to continue his Cat Thor cosplay while he checks out Milliways? Damn right he is. So he shoulders himself up to the bar and calls out, "MEAD! MEAD, FOR CAT THOR OF CATSGARD!"


((Loki is here from Squirrel Girl. So he looks like a fairly ordinary Marvel Loki with an adorable white cat head and a little Thor helmet. Because he's being Cat Thor today.

Hasty confession: I am lamentably new to Squirrel Girl, so I...don't...actually know anything beyond this one issue. *hangs head in shame*))

"I think mead is bad for cats," X offers, from where she is standing next to Cat Thor.

"Milk, too. It is the lactose."

Loki--ahem, Cat Thor--turns a little and props an elbow against the bar, looking her over. "Oh. My. God. You are so right! I mean, probably. You sound right. Let's be honest, I don't know anything about Midgard cat physiology."

X reaches out to pat -- not his head, but his shoulder.

Once.

"There are books. Loki."

Beat.

"The hat is very cute."

"I'm not Loki, I'm Cat Thor," he protests. "Verily! This is Cat Thor's cute hat!"

She can pat his head! She should pat his head! What is the point of being this adorable if no one pats your head? "--Have we met?"

"Yes," X says, matter-of-factly.

Then she scratches just behind Cat Thor's left ear.

"But you did not look like this."

A pause.

"I have not met Throg. It is unfortunate."

Loki purrs, because he can. "Throg is overrated, let's talk about someone else. Like this Loki person."

X considers this for a moment, still scritching behind Cat Thor's ear.

"Which one?"

[foolyoutwice]

"Aaany of them? All of them? How many do you know?"

He bumps his head up into her hand, just to make it clear the scritchies should keep on going.

"Three."

A pause, and X frowns.

"And a half. I do not remember if Ikol counts."

Another, longer pause. The scritching stops for a moment, and then resumes.

"Only one comes here."

He waggles a hand: "You can give Ikol a half, that's fair. But three and a half Lokis, one of which comes here, makes for an entire Loki that I don't know anything about! (Cat Thor can do math)," he adds parenthetically.

Also he moves his head because she should scritch the other side now. Scritchies feel weird if they go on in the same spot too long.

X obliges, shifting her own position to keep it from being too awkward an angle for either of them.

"You are certain it is not two Lokis?"

They sneak up on you that way.

Cat Thor is flexible as well, and will make an effort not to let X strain her wrists with petting duty.

"Mmmmm...there's Old Loki, who was very very bad and no one likes him; there's new kid Loki who is Totally Awesome and Amazing and Saves the Day; there's Ikol, who counts as one half-Loki; there's your Mystery Loki who comes here." He's been counting on his fingers, and holds up his hand to show her. "Who am I missing?"

Honestly, there are too many damn Lokis to keep track of. But this particular one hasn't been to Milliways, and he'd like to know about a Loki who has.

"Sometimes he is a dick," X offers.

"The younger Loki."

[harryhotspur]

.....it's a cat.

A shouting cat.

A cat shouting for mead! The bar produces said mead, in a big mug, which he lifts to Harry Percy in a cheery salute. "The preferred drink of Cat Thor!"

"...what," she says.

[foolyoutwice]

"The preferred drink of Cat Thor? --Ooh, ooh, sorry, the...pre-FUR-red drink of Cat Thor. I can't believe I missed that."

She's looking confused. Well, who can blame her, faced with An Actual God. "Not a mead fan?"

[harryhotspur]

"You're a cat," she says.

[foolyoutwice]

"Cat Thor," he corrects. "And it's only my head that's a cat. As you can see."

He strikes a pose. "I wield the mighty hammer MEWNIR to defend the Nine Realms. How about you?"

[harryhotspur]

"I-- Hotspur." What? What do any of these words mean?

[foolyoutwice]

He's holding a little hammer with a little cat face, and waggles it to illustrate his point. "Soooo, I'm thinking you're human?"

[harryhotspur]

"Yes." Um. "...and you're a cat."

[foolyoutwice]

"Cat Thor," he corrects again patiently. "From Catsgard. The god of thunder and smiting and defending Midgard. That's Earth, by the way. In fact I'm defending Earth right now. From a terrible foe."

[harryhotspur]

"What foe?" She starts to grin. "A monstrous great mouse?"

[foolyoutwice]

He grins back. (Showing cute little pointy white teeth and an adorable little pink tongue.) "Squirrel. A monstrous great squirrel. She fills men's minds with fear and hate," he adds.
