Cassian's found a seat with a good view of the Bar and has a datapad in front of him that he's alternately reading and tapping into. All the data he collected on Ord Mantell has provided some good options for other missions but he needs to get them into a coherent plan.

If it works, he might even be able to do two jobs at once which would give him less reason for downtime and do more for the Rebellion. Its just a matter of phrasing it in such a way that he and Kay can do it themselves, as he works he will briefly project a small galaxy map overlaid with hyperspace routes or one of a building layout. The layout appears far less than the map but its useful to see them and plot where he needs to go.

Sinric finds the star map intriguing and pauses to admire it. "How lovely."
He holds a violin case close, tucked out of the way of anyone passing.

He looks up from slightly turning the map at the comment, "I'm planning a route. Its the galaxy with hyperspace routes."

"A map of the stars?" He smiles in quiet wonder. "Who knew it was so complex."

"The ones in my galaxy," Cassian pulls the map up to show each part, "There's Coruscant near the Core then it goes out to the Inner, Mid and Outer Rim."

He follows Cassian's gestures. "So much of my world is as yet unmapped. It's strange to think of a sky of stars all known and settled."

"They're not all known," He moves out to show the Unknown Regions and Wild Space.

"Because there are dangers there? Or because no-one has not explored them yet?"

"I know the Empire has plans to explore them more and conquer if they can but exploration is dangerous,"

Its a combination of both and he would rather the Empire stretch their resources so they're easier to hurt.

"Which Empire?" He asks, head cocked.

"What is it that makes it so dangerous?"

"The Galactic Empire and they don't care who they destroy to gain and keep their power."

"Ah." He nods, tucking his hair back behind his ear. "You fight against this Empire."

Cassian stills for a long moment then releases a breath, this is Milliways, its safe to be known as a Rebel here,

"I do, yes."

Sinric touches Cassian's hand, as if to reassure that his admission is safe with Sinric. "If he do not serve the people, no leader is not worthy of the title of emperor."

"I have served three in my time. And am being courted by a fourth. The first two were good man, worthy of their titles. The third became so, in time."

The touch surprises him and he glances at Sinric's hand and then reaches for his caf, random touches aren't a large part of his life, "Three emperors, of the same empire?"

That must be a dangerous place to live.

Sinric withdraws his hand, almost apologetically.

"No, three different empires. Byzantium, which I was born to. Tang in the east, and Nippon further east still. And now I have traveled west, to the new born empire of the Franks."

"Are they far apart? Different systems or planets?"

How hard is it to go from one to the other?

"Half a world away." He shrugs, "My people are more than a millennia from reaching even our own moon. There are whole areas of my world unknown and undiscovered in my time." He smiles self-deprecating. "I've studied maps from many ages here."

Cassian nods, he can't fully imagine that but it seems more common here, "Maps are always useful."

"They show us the world as only the gods must see it." He shrugs. "And those from the future of my time are so much more exact."

"Gods, I've never thought of them in terms of maps,"

His faith lies in the Rebellion, various gods and the Force, they've never seemed to pay any attention to him.

"In my time, we're very much trapped in the ground, seeing the world only as ants might. The maps of later ages are made from above, soaring like birds or looking down like gods." Sinric shrugs.

"I see what you mean. I don't think about gods a lot. Its easier to see everything from above."

"The gods are not a part of your world?" Sinric ask curiously.

"There are all sorts of religions around the galaxy, a lot of them to do with the Force but not all. Its just not a part of my life,"

The world of the Jedi is woven through the Rebellion from those who remember when they meant hope, but that's not Cassian's life. He's seen the Force in Milliways but there's still a distance for him.

"I have heard of this Force, but I don't understand it. Can you tell me of it?"
