It is a blazingly bright summer day, and ten year old Sunshine has brought a beach towel, a thermos of cold orange juice, and an old book of scary stories to the lake shore to enjoy it and soak it all in. Already the days are getting shorter at Milliways, she can tell, even if they're still lovely and long. She had better take in what's left of the summer while it's not yet autumn.
So there is a kid down by the lake shore, stretched out and reading, digging her toes into the warm sand and delighting in the suspenseful novel, and soaking in the sunlight as surely as any of the trees of the nearby forest.
