Jay has the start of a cold and feels like dirt. After much hassling by the drones, he comes up to the bar in search of tea or something.

But it's just a cold. Or so it seems. Till he sneezes up gold glitter.

"What the fuck!"

The white cat that had been dozing in true catloaf form on the bar is startled awake by the nearby sneeze. He draws back slightly at all the glitter, with the closest approximate whut face a cat's face can manage.

"Did you inhale a craft store?"

"Not that I remember." Jay sniffs, thanking the bar as a box of tissues appears. "Think this is one of those messed up bar things."

[mogget_cat]

"Charter preserve us," mutters the cat, scooting hopefully out of range of ballistic nasal glitter. "That means it wont just be you. We'll be finding glitter in all the bar's nooks and crannies for ages yet."

[runningred]

"And I threw a party last weekend." Jay turns away to sneeze into a tissue, green glitter this time. "Which means lots of people may have it."

[mogget_cat]

The cat isnt quick enough this time, and staggered to find glitter already clinging to it's paws.

"You are pestiferous," he says, shaking each paw in turn to try and rid them of their shimmery green efluvium.

Jay swears in an obscure West African dialect and blows his nose. "Sorry, mate. I'll get my ass upstairs. If it's any consolation, I doubt I'm still infectious."

[mogget_cat]

"Familiar with the behavior of this particular bar weirdness, are you?" The cat remarks, dry, still trying with limited success to remove the offending sparkles from his fur. The catshape has instincts regarding how to clean one's fur, an option Yrael is resolutely avoiding. "Hopefully the cure will be easily found, before the place looks too much like an entire swarm of pixies exploded in it."

"Bit over five years now. I'm getting use to it." He flags down a rat and gets a damp cloth to help the cat get the glitter off his paws.

[mogget_cat]

"Familiarity with previous Milliways' weirdness does not ensure knowledge of the intricacies of current and various future weirdnesses," the cat points out, deigning very generously to let Jay help get the glitter off his paws. The claws, which are very sharp and the color of old bone, do not feature in any threatening manner. "I have been here many years, and this is the first glitter-plague I have encountered. We do not know for sure its period of contagion or how long the symptoms last. Or the full possible extent of the symptoms, for that matter."

"It's glitter," Teja says, helpfully.

He's been glittered by Loki before, but sneezing it up is a new one.

[runningred]

"Yep, got that. Thanks, mate." Jay mutters sarcastically. "Just not sure why it's coming out of me."

[ostro_goth]

"A god may have cursed you," Teja suggests.

This is Milliways, after all, and it now contains two Lokis.

[runningred]

I don't recall pissing anyone off in a serious way." Jay blows his nose. And now it's purple glitter.

[ostro_goth]

"Perhaps in a less than serious way, as this would be a less than serious punishment?" Teja guesses.

Jay can be a tad abrasive, and gods are easily pissed off.

[runningred]

"I don't even think I've felt with any gods lately. Although, who can tell here. Anyone complain about the noise from the beach party?"

[ostro_goth]

"None at all," Teja says. "It seems to have been a merry gathering. So it would not be that -- one hopes."

It can't have been his Loki, at least.

[runningred]

"It was." Jay grins. "You should have come joined us?"

He turns away to sneeze, blue this time. "Crap!"

Baze is also sneezing glitter, settled at the bar with a cup of honey lemon ginger tea. His sleeves are covered in a rainbow of riotous colors. He spots Jay and groans.

"Oh, no! You're sick, too?"

[runningred]

"Oh, hey Baze." Jay leans against the bar and sniffing. "Looks like we've got a bar plague."

[iprotectyou]

"A bar plague?" Baze repeats, sniffling himself. He cocks his head to the side, involing a giant, lost puppy.

"You mean illnesses like these are common?"

[runningred]

"Sometimes." Jay shrugs, turning away to sneeze. "Green and gold? Really?"

He sniffs. "It wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened. Just the first time I know of with glitter through."

[iprotectyou]

"Frankly, I'm surprised people don't get sick more often, what with everyone bringing germs in from their worlds," Baze says, shaking his head. He squints at the green and gold glitter through the haze of his headache.

"I wonder why this disease is so contagious."

[runningred]

"I'm sure the bar has it's own way of filtering out most of it. Maybe that's why we only got the seriously weird stuff." He sneezes a shower of turquoise glitter. "Yuck. Perhaps that's why the weird stuff is so virulent."

[iprotectyou]

"Possibly, yeah," Baze says, sneezing red glitter himself. "What other illnesses have happened?"

[runningred]

"My favourite's the one that makes you think you're someone else. I've been pretty lucky, only got it the once myself but a friend of mine's had it a few times. I kinda like the person he becomes. Eli's a stuck up prat but he's fun to tease."
