Oswin keeps a fairly close eye on the bar. It's a bit of a habit.
Today, what she saw brought her out to come see it in person - one man inexplicably up in the rafters, evidently at ease, and one much larger, armored man, hanging from said rafters like a kitten having severe misadventures.
She has popcorn. And a great viewing post from one of the comfy chairs by the fire.

"Have you ever seen anything so stupid?" Wilford asks. He offers his peanuts to share.

"How do you think he does that kind of thing being blind?"
Where he's from, blind people generally can't see to fuck around up in rafters like that.
no subject
"Echolocation? Maybe he's a bat."

It was an honest mistake, considering how Chirrut kind of looks like he's winning at the moment.

And wins. It's kind of embarrassing.
"I don't think he's said more than four words to me, come to think of it."
no subject
Case in point, actually.

He got his ass handed to him. By a blind man.
"Wish somebody had told me earlier."
Oh well. He's putting on a good show now.

"Can you believe Chirrut? He messed with my tea. Honestly. I got it back. Hello, Oswin! May the Force of others be with you!"

"I'm sure glad the rafters held my weight. I've been gaining some, which is great. How are you?"

"I've never been very good at baking. I'd like to learn how to make no-bake cookies, though, if you're willing to teach me. Once you're not banned from the kitchens and you know how to make them, that is."
no subject
"You know, I bet they wouldn't stop you from going in there. And if I came in with you, well. They could hardly protest."
no subject
"Well, there's no point in not trying," he says, offering her a hand up.
"We can get ingredients for cookies from the bar. By the way, I've been really enjoying the shortbread you've been baking for me. So has Chirrut. You're getting better."
no subject
And who doesn't like flattery?
She takes his offered hand (it's ridiculously fun how easy he pulls her up) and loops an arm through his once on her feet.
"So we'll need sugar, and oats, and peanut butter, and cocoa, and milk... and vanilla. Oh, and some butter. Because nothing says yum like a little more butter."
no subject
"I'm happy you're here. I've missed you."
no subject
People are ridiculous.
"Missed you too, big guy. Well, probably a little less, 'cause I cheat." She allows, leaning against him gleefully. "Your forms in the morning are looking better. Well, I think they look better, but, you know, since I've never done one..." She shrugs, "They're pretty anyway."
no subject
"Why, thank you," Baze says, patting the counter. Bar, who overheard their conversation on the way over, pops up with cookie ingredients. Baze releases Oswin to scoops them all up in his arms.
"I really appreciate that, Oswin. Thank you for the compliments. Maybe you should join Chirrut and I in the mornings. We could teach you the forms."
no subject
"Right, lead on - I'll hide behind you in case they have a 'hunt on sight' order on me."
