OOM: Waiting on Toby.

The cats had started giving him looks so Quentin had opened the door to the kitchen and found Milliways. It was another place to kill time and he wouldn't stay long. Quentin walks in the door without his disguise and at the counter gets a napkin. At the request to run a happy hour, he nods, it will keep him busy.

Then makes coffee, he would do it at home and he can do it here, its a good waiting exercise. Then he pours himself a hot chocolate and finds a donut to eat in the kitchen before leaning on the counter.

"Hey."

Yamato's mood since talking to his mother has been -- conflicted. He does, at least, do a good job of appearing outwardly calm, though.

"I'll take a coffee, barkeep," he says, a little wryly, settling onto a bar stool.

"Freshly brewed," He pours out a mug and sets it in front of Yamato, giving him a quick look to see how he's doing.

He looks fine, in his usual grumpy way, but then he is generally fairly okay at looking grumpy-neutral no matter how he feels.

"Thanks," he says. "Bar roped you into a bartending shift, huh?"

"Yes, I think she decided that I needed the distraction. Toby should have been back by now from her current case."

"Are you worried about her?" Yamato asks.

[heatherandsteel]

"She's not being careful and its going to get her hurt," Or dead so she can join Connor which he wonders if that's what she wants.

Yamato gives a quick nod.

"What's the case? And is there anyone you can send after her?"

[heatherandsteel]

"She's looking into some goblin fruit smuggling. And yes, I sent Raj to get his uncle, he'll find her."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"... Goblin fruit smuggling?"

[heatherandsteel]

"It gives pureblood Fae a buzz but its addictive for changelings."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Ah, drugs. Okay," Yamato says, furrowing his brow. "That -- sounds pretty dangerous for one person to be tackling alone."

"It is, but that's Toby," Its what she does and she's been doing it more than ever.

"I can't blame you for being worried about her," Yamato says, rubbing the back of his neck. "Especially when she's not checking in when she's meant to."

"Yeah, I just want her to be safe and to not go running after danger."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Do you think she's deliberately seeking out risky jobs?"

[heatherandsteel]

"I think she might be but I don't know how to talk to her."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Be direct. Tell her outright what you think," Yamato says, rubbing the back of his neck. "You can't make her change her behaviour, but you can make her confront it."

"We have, sort of, but she's not really hearing it."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Right," Yamato says, rubbing the back of his neck. "That -- definitely limits your options."

[heatherandsteel]

"So we all just try and keep a closer eye on her," He sighs and leans on the counter.

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"I suppose that's all you can do," Yamato says, and reaches over to ruffle Quentin's hair. "She's lucky to have you around."

Quentin smiles at the ruffle, "I guess. How are you?"

"I'm -- okay," Yamato says. "S'been about a week since I was here last. I'm getting by."

[heatherandsteel]

"Getting by is good."

[angry_friendship_wolf]

"Yeah. I was worried about how Takeru's holding up, but he seems to be -- okay. I mean, not okay, but he's managing."
