[oom: friends and visitors]
Barry enters the front door with a bit of struggle today.
In sweats and a S.T.A.R. Labs t-shirt, he has one arm slung over a crutch and his foot wrapped up tight from toes to his calf in bandaging.
Fighting his way through the doorway he ends up coming at it a bit sideways; shouldering the door open then hobbling inside, just managing to hop clear before it shuts on him.
"Wanna see how fast I can run backwards? So stupid," he mutters, shaking his head at himself, beyond annoyed.
With a sigh Barry makes his way towards the comfy chairs by the fireplace to put his foot up and place an order in with a wait rat. It's going to take awhile for his ankle to heal so he may as well settle in here instead of hanging around S.T.A.R. Labs were Cisco keeps walking by and snickering, and Caitlin keeps giving him her disapproving pouts.

When he sees Barry, he stands up to try and help then winces, "What happened to you?"
no subject
"I uh, I twisted my ankle," he replies, easing down onto the chair and setting the crutch aside.
He actually broke it, but given how fast it'll heal there's no reason to admit to that.

"It'll be fine, though." It was honestly more embarrassing than anything.
"Besides the ankle how are you doing?"

No weapons were pulled and Kay seemed to have a good time.

Throwing Cassian a smile, Barry adds, "And hey, it's gotta be cool for you, too, right? Having your friend coming here now."

No one else knows him the same way Kay does.

Stopping a passing waitrat, Barry orders a strawberry banana smoothie.

That would say something different about police.

(He's going to have to explain what happened, he knows that.)
"... What, did you stub your toe at super-speed?" He asks, a little brusquely, as he approaches.
no subject
"Huh? Oh, no, just a little accident. It's fine. How's it going?"
no subject
He pauses, not -- quite ready to answer that question, but he knows that if he doesn't now he'll put it off forever.
"Gabumon's gone," he says, abruptly. "Or he's ... I mean, he's probably been reborn by now in the Digital World, but he's not. Around."
no subject
The abrupt announcement catches him and for a moment all Barry can do is stare and try to process what Yamato's said.
"Gone? What-- what do you mean gone? He's not-- " Except it sounds like he is...

He has a hundred questions and reactions and nothing to say that would be helpful right now.
Finally he frowns and says, "Yamato, I'm sorry."
no subject
"It's fine. Not your fault, after all," Yamato says. "Sorry to, er, spring it on you out of nowhere."
no subject
"Well no, I know, I mean, I still wish I could've helped somehow, but right now I'm just sorry that... he's gone."
He knows that condolences don't always count for a lot, but Barry hopes Yamato knows they aren't just empty words.
no subject
"A few people here and back home think we should go find them. In the Digital World. Even if they don't remember us."

"Maybe. But, Yamato, why did you two start fighting in the first place? I mean, has that changed, or do both your worlds still need you?"
Fiddling with the arm rest of his crutch, he asks, "If it came to it, would you step up again? Would Gabumon?"
Barry feels like the both would.
