Emcee, wearing a tank top with the word Delicious splashed across the front in hot pink, stumbles in laughing amid the sounds of thumping dance music and the chatter of a lively crowd. He's holding a half-drunk blue margarita that he just manages to not spill.
It takes about two seconds for him to realize that this isn't one of the private, curtained booths at Wonderland. (These are strong margaritas, and he's been drinking all night.)
"I'm back already?" he says to himself in German. "No, no, that can't be right."
As far as he's concerned, he only left Milliways several hours ago. He didn't expect a door to appear so soon.
[OOC: OOM thread is ongoing, no warnings so far. Emcee speaks German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Swedish.]

Emcee's hard to miss and Cassian has no idea what he just said but its Emcee. He lifts his hand and says in Basic/English, "[Good party?]"

Not when Emcee has a party to go back to.

"[Is it just me or is something off about-- well, everything? I feel as if I've either missed a lot or have arrived on the verge of something interesting.]"

"[Yes, something to do with language. I can't read your shirt.]"
no subject
He looks down at his shirt.
"[You can't? How odd. It says Delicious, darling,]" he says, drawing out his L's before taking another sip of his drink.

{ooc: sorry the thread is taking so long.}

"[Well, that's different,]" he says in English, a bit bewildered. He doesn't understand Greek, much less Ancient Greek, and it doesn't translate automatically in his head. Although, he sort of does recognize the word beloved.
[ooc: it's ok, been super slow myself :)]

"[Our usual speech isn't magically translating. How very odd...]" he says slowly, glancing around as if something was in the air tonight. "[Is English all right for you?]"

He lifts a hand as he sees Emcee and calls a greeting out in Sindarin, syllables tumbling like pearls.

Perhaps this margarity is too strong. (No such thing.)
"Hallo, Master Elrond, how are you this evening?" he asks in cheerful German.
no subject
Then he says, [I don't understand].
In the tongue of the Men of the West this time.
Though he is fairly certain it won't help.
It might have an Old English feel to it. But it isn't.
no subject
Emcee also says, "[I don't understand]" but in English, as he shakes his head, pointing to it, then gestures at his mouth as he speaks in some kind of improvised sign language. The look of confusion on his face might help, too.

Then he slowly looks around the room, a finger to his ear.
So many languages.
no subject
And then he frowns down at his margarita. No, he can't be that drunk.
Because obviously Elrond is hearing it as well.

["My grandma's going biking with the chickens!"]
Guppy, who doesn't speak German, looks down at his youngest in some surprise.
"Huh, that sounded like German."
[ooc: Guppy speaks English, French and Punjabi. Gil speaks English, Punjabi and German, but only a few words of each]

"Oh!" he chirps, somewhat bewildered but amused. "[Is she? That sounds delightful!]" he says in German, before looking up at Guppy.
"That's because it was," he responds in his usual accented English. "Well, the words were indeed German, though I'm not quite sure they're meant to be used in that order."

"I wish he said such full sentences in English. I shall have to teach him with songs."
no subject
He leans down toward Gil and asks him, "Can you sing more of that song for me?"
